"Uncalled For" improv in Toronto
« on: June 01, 2006, 10:37:15 AM »

Uncalled For is a Montreal improv group that's setting new trends in the genre. They've become the pet project of the Montreal Fringe Festival, pulling double duty as participants and as hosts of the get-to-know-the-artists show The 13th Hour.

They'll be playing shows in Toronto June 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, so today through Saturday. If anyone in the GTA is looking for something to do this weekend, they're a great way to spend a few hours out.

I really miss doing Improv. I can't watch it on stage though, because I feel like yelling freeze and tagging in.

This troop started as a CEGEP activity and I sat in on a couple of sessions. I couldn't keep up because of commitments to the newspaper and because I'm not spontatious on demand.

But besides my connection to them, they are one of Montreal's best acts. They were even voted Best Stand Up Comedian in the Best of Montreal 2006 pole, despite not being stand up comedians or a single person.

Well you're in luck, Red. Uncalled For is playing at the Montreal Fringe again this year at various times. Check www.montrealfringe.ca for times. And shoot me a PM if you feel like seeing a show together. I plan on maxing out another gold pass this year.

Good to know that we have Improv fans

If any of you want to see a great improv Show (in French) in montreal, every monday night at "La Place ? C?t?" 4571 Papineau just North of Mont-Royal.

I'm part of the show and it's based on the same concept as the TV Show "Whose line is it anyway"

Enjoy
