Post by: BHMike on May 03, 2007, 10:05:15 PM
Brought up my grunt 4 mvp in another thread :

What was your first job?

Technically, mine was a paper route.
Then I worked as a Stock Boy at Bargain Harolds.

Paper Boy - classic
Bargain Harold's - EXCEPTIONAL.  That's exactly what I'm talkin' about.  I had almost forgotten them.  I vaguely remember going in there as a kid and just getting lost.  They always seemed to be downstairs, for some reason - at least in my memory.

I worked the cash and cleaned at my Mom's cafe during the summer whenever one of her employees couldn't make it. Fun way to pass the time. I also portioned the bacon.

My second job was as a bag boy at a grocery store.

paper route - stoney creek news

then restaurant work up until the end of college...happy to say it was all roadhouse type places, so i never had a name tag or a gay-ass hat.  the last one i worked in for 4 years and my titles went from dishwasher to prep cook to cook to waiter to bartender to dj... which led my guidance counsellor to suggest radio broadcasting as a career.  16 years later i'm sorry i listened to the bastard.

Stockboy at a grocery store.  12 years later I'm still there and have had pretty much every job description you could think of.  Now its time to learn the new ordering/stock keeping/intranet/bdms system and be the coordinator for that. woohoo  :shifty:

Babysitter.

I remember my very first time....I was 11 and I was watching 4 kids all under the age of 3.  :o I had to call my Dad because 3 of them were in diapers and I was starting to freak out trying to handle all of them at once.

Looking back, I can't believe the parents felt comfortable leaving all of those kids with me.

But since I only got paid 50 cents an hour for that job it was probably because they were cheap as hell and I was too naive to ask what I was going to get paid before taking the job.

Is there an age limit on being a bat boy? I wonder if the Blue Jays want a (almost) 35 year old bat boy?  :shifty:

Well, I've done a lot of volunteer work, but I don't have a job.  I applied at my local TRU, but I haven't heard back from them yet...
