Now, does anyone have any spare Sky Patrol parachutes I can include with this thing? :-D
I do plan on making a "Sky Patrol" version of Ace for this as well.

That is pretty frackin' slick.
I'd buy two, Hasbro.

Sick. Just awesome.
Chrome keeps coming up as a fan favourite!
-

-
Wow, that is incredible.

Mind blowing - that looks amazing? Did you use a US Canadian version or is this a Funskool jet?
And I am assuming the stickers are repos.

That came out really nice Mike.
-
Chrome always makes things better!
-
I think I just chromed my pants!! I can just imagine the glare off this. Must look like a ball of light. Awesome.
-
I think I just chromed my pants!!
You just earned a Timbit for that one.
-
Beautiful! I think the Sky Raven just lost the title of "coolest jet ever".
-
That is a beauty, very well done!
-
It's so beautiful man! No wait, that's my mirrored self on the Sky-Wing's shell ;D . Awesome idea Mike, you also get a Timbit from me.
-
i plus one timbit to Mike for this, Turner for SMB set and the S. American villains and LJ for the ARAH style Moondancer.

How the heck do you guys get the chrome like that? I'd love to get one, it's freakin' awesome!
-
I'm shocked how many people think this is something you can do at home.... It's done in a factory, and was NOT cheap.

He ain't kidding. These are are not cheap to make. You really gotta love chrome.
Thankfully Mike puts up with all my nattering about chrome.
-
I guess the question mainly for me is, do you have to provide the Skystriker to the company and they chrome it or do they actually have the Skystriker mold and they just make a chrome version? I love how the makes the chrome exclusives, but I was just wondering if there was enough interest, would it be possible to do group buys?

@ The Mike, you should make 2011 convention Chromed T-shirts, I know I would buy one

The third party auto parts industry has offered chrome plating of plastics for many years (I paid to have parts of my '72 Beetle chromed)
It is expensive, the price when I did plastic dashboard parts and gear shift was the same if I did one part or 7.
The place I used was in Hamilton, but that was 18+ years ago, and I can't remember the name (very close to Dofasco)
A quick google search brought up these guys http://www.cvvacuumplaters.com/ (http://http://www.cvvacuumplaters.com/)
They are selling off all of their hardware, so if you really want to try it yourself get out the Visa.

Well if I ever hit it big with the lottery the I'll build a new house and set up a chrome / customizing room and everyone with over 200 posts gets a free chrome vehicle.
Until then, chrome work is expensive and hard to find some one willing to do it.

If enough people wanted the same thing done, then yes - they would do it, and there would be a set cost for the "job" of it all.
Recently when I got my stuff done, I think each part averaged about $25.00 - and that was just be breaking down a set cost vs. how many items I had - in truth, I think my Skystriker cost about $75.00 or more due to the size.
-
Yikes! $25 per part? Well, there goes my dream of a chromed Silver Mirage Motorcycle...
-
Yeah, $25 per part is expensive. :o And I wanted to chrome my Neo-Vipers so badly. ::) Now what am I going to do?
-
I did a figure stand. 1 figure stand. It cost me near $25.00. That is one expensive figure stand.
