General Joe Talk / Comic 3 packs
« on: July 25, 2004, 09:38:13 PM »
I finally decided to buy them on eBay today from a shop who seem to deal a lot in MOC figures on eBay (over 7000 refs) and said in the description that they were MOC on C9+ card... well... C9+ is a damn high grade for a package so I figure that he probably opens himself a lot of cases and they're uncirculated (multiple packs for sale, including over 20 VvV Snake-Eyes/Stormshadow that I picked one up at the same time...) and that it was worth the 7 extra bucks he was asking for it.

I Got 2 Snake/Scarlett/Kwinn 3 packs, and the American VvV Snake-Eyes/SS pack... with a pretty decent shipping/handling fee of $11 to Canada (most eBay sellers would charge easily over $20 to ship and "handle" this kind of package over here...).

This thing (comic 3 pack) is really a great idea from Hasbro who just got back the rights to all the Marvel comics line. I'll definitely grab them all if they hit our Canadian regular market.

The Wave 4 (or is it 5 ?) VvV Snake-eyes (pitch black version of the wave 1 VvV mold) will have the Arashnikage logo.

Yeah I pretty much checked all the surroundings of the pegs just to be sure someone didn't hid some packs.

Was passing by the TRU this afternoon in Anjou, still a lot of packs, but no more troop builders (Wolf/Bats).

Didn't go to the Toys, I was there a week ago... they have a lot of VvV packs but they sell at like 12.99 (Wal mart is 9.92 and probably going down in prices soon since US Wal mart are now at 4.92 US since a few weeks)... I did grab a VHS 3 pack there for 14.99. At those prices, I'm pretty sure they still have everything. If you're looking for VvV wave 3, they're pretty much all at the Wal-Mart Langelier a few streets down this Toys. Last time I was there they had the full line minus the army builder pack (snow/bats), that's where I grabbed my Jinx/Action Feature Slice.

I went to their Anjou shop today (in promenades d'Anjou?), nothing much, a few BTR that we already see zillions of at ToysRus (and they were prices higher, like $5 for the small packs at 3.99 at Toys, and 4 spy troops 2 packs, I don't even remember which ones.. no army builder or interesting characters (well.. to me)..

Hi Guys,

I'm new in Montreal, so I don't know all the places yet but I'm pretty sure there must be a place somewhere around here where I could get lifesize display mannequins? I'm looking for a guy and/or a gal, I don't want to pay more than around $100-$150 for each (of course I want them used...).

So if you guys know of any place where you can get used display mannequins here in Montreal (or anywhere in Canada if you really know of a place for this, I'd prefer to have this thing shipped from Canada than USA, even if shipping would raise the price of the mannequins), let me know.

And why is this Joe related? I want to make a lifesize Snake-Eyes and lifesize Scarlett... I'm working hard on convincing my girlfriend to put this in the office here hehehehe.

Since Deadshot mentionned it in my introduction thread on this board, here's the "awesome Snake eyes visor" I made he's reffering to:

Just something I've been wondering since a few days, I don't know about american packages but I have a Canadian backer card of the VvV line lying on my desk since a few days (Jinx/Slice package) and I noticed that there's a stamped/engraved number in the back (this one is 41261)... I checked out my VvV Snake Eyes and the number is 40541... I bought it a few weeks ago when I decided to start my MOC Snake Eyes collection.

It almost sounds like this could be a sequential number on the packages they get out of the assembly line... about 700 packs got out between my Snake-Eyes v2 VvV and the v3 Jinx... sounds possible, considering the Jinx is probably one of the first one to get out of their canadian assembly line...

Anyone have some backer cards from the VvV line around? Post your numbers/pack...

Do you really think we'll get those 3 packs here in Canada? I don't know about the other parts of Canada but I think there's a law here in Quebec (Not sure if it's federal or provincial) that prohibide selling/distributing toys/videogames/whatever if they're not in a bilingual package? So we should be lucky that we actually have the VvV line over here and they took the time to translate the package... anyone else noticed that we have the SAME card back since VvV 1? Just bought a Jinx/Slice and the backer card is again the wave 1 backer (promoting the VvV wave 1 figures...).

Sure they could do another generic backer card that they would use for the 9 announced packs (and any following...) but I wonder what's the situation with a comic inside... we don't get the VvV comics the americans get in their VvV packs... would kind of suck to get a "comic pack" where they had to actually remove the comic... Does Heritage still exists? lol

Just got that in today's mail from HK...

Another Joe that won't make it to Canada (probably not even in the US, they said that the BTR line was on indefinite hiatus...)

Introductions / Hey!
« on: July 22, 2004, 09:41:07 AM »
I found this board with the help of Redmao (who did some private messaging recruiting via another board ;) ), didn't know there was an active website for Canadian Joe fans. I've tried myself to start a little community a few months ago for French Canadians, but I ended up almost alone with the occasional visitor who "remembered" the joe toons... and that was it, most of them didn't even knew Hasbro was still producing the toys in a revamped format.

I'm a big Snake eyes fan, I even have done a website about him that I will soon translate in English :http://http://snake-eyes.virtualogik.com. I also collect pieces related to Scarlett and I'm a big fan of the comics (this is what brought me back to the Joe universe... otherwise I would have never picked up those funky looking new joe figures...).

I'm in Quebec (Montreal), I just moved in a few months ago for school. I'm originally from Saguenay (for those who know where this is...).

So anyway, here I am, with another joe board that I'll have to check often but I think I'll like it here!
