Oops. Proof reading/editing mistake (Hasbro)
« on: July 04, 2009, 10:31:17 AM »

Sorry I don't have a pic, but I didn't have my phone with me, and I wasn't going to pay $24.99 for a Snake Trax w/Scrap Iron.

So if anyone in Canada can grab a pic and post it to show what I mean, please do.

Anyway, I was at TRU and they had the display for ROC out.  Everything was fine until I saw the Snake Trax w/Scrap Iron.

At first I thought it might have been me just misreading it, then maybe it might have been one box, but no.

EVERY Snake Trax box (multilingual) has the name and then "with/avec/con ACRAP IRON!!!"

I don't know why,  but I couldn't help but laugh at the mistake.  Mostly likely due to my juvenile sense of humour.

As I said, it was on the multilingual boxes, so I don't know if the same mistake will appear on the English only boxes.

Ah, you beat me to it. I wasn't going to pick up the vehicles until they go on sale (Star Trek figures are now $3.00 at Walmart) but when I saw Acrap Iron I had to have it. So yeah, I bought one. Only paid $19.99 at Walmart for it but even that price is too much. These things should be $12.99 - $14.99. They still have Hiss tank or the Armidillo Air Chariot sets for $19.99 so if you look at the new Armidillo with only 1 figure and no Air Chariot then it really looks bad for Hasbro.

Also, take a look at the back of that new Cobra Drill machine. They were going to use the Serpentor body with Croc Master head at first. Reminds me a lot of our Back Stop figure.

On another board, someone suggested I should buy it as soon as possible because it is the kind of mistake that could get pulled from the shelves if some parent gets uppity about it.

I think it represents a lot... I mean I got few 25th ann. figs and they cannot even hold their rifle. Now we see a mistake on a box. Ok, it is only a mistake, but that "Crappergate" represents well the crap Hasbro is giving to us...

A lot (too much) repaints (how many Duke, CC, Serpentor, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow do we really need?),
Bad distribution to Canada (I know Zellers, TRU Canada, Sears Canada, WallMart Canada, etc. have their responsibility here, but Hasbro must also do a good sell pitch,
All exclusive are US only,
Sometimes bad figs design
,
And now... editing mistake.

From a large company like Hasbro, I think the word crap is appropriate.

Its mildly amusing at best. Typos are a common thing in printing.

I never picked up the box (nor do I intend too). I'm interested in seeing the back of that Cobra Drill machine to see that Serpentor/Croc master figure though.

It's ok.  I prefer the all black mock up that was seen during Toyfair.  The Serpentor chest is cool in all black, but the overall figure is not really that great in either form.

Hey guys maybe you're making a big fuss out of nothing. Has anyone given a second thought that Acrap and Scrapy could be....brothers?

Personally I like the idea of reusing Croc's head and torso to create an army builder. But the torso's paint scheme looks weak. It would've looked like a brand new figure if they would've painted it metallic. It still looks like a sick Croc, and by sick I mean unhealthy...not great. Poor guy.

Mole pod looks like a cool vehicle, reminds me a bit of the good ol' comic book days.

Notice that its a "Con Acrap Iron"? Is it another of those convention repaints?

Also note that they trademarked it.
