Just a head up to those who collect the G1 TF re-issues.

Looks like the G1 Transformers Commemorative Series isn't completely dead yet.  I noticed last night that G1 Perceptor and the three GI Insecticons have been re-issused as TRU exclusives in the TF Universe line.  Same box sizes as the Commemorative series, but with more art work.

The kicker is the price. $49.99 CAN each.   At least the Insecticons all come in one package.  The bigger kicker is that Hasbro changed two of the three insecticon names (Bombshell and Shrapnel).

Ontario / Miko/Samko - 2009
« on: September 20, 2009, 12:25:08 PM »
Just a heads up, they opened yesterday.  I managed to hit the Miko warehouse in Richmond Hill just before it closed yesterday.  No A/C in the warehouse = sigh.

Anyways, as for GI JOE toys, only some Sigma Six stuff was noted.  Pass.  No 3 3/4 stuff was found, which was disappointing.

As for other toys, tons of Hulk, Marvel Legends and Indy.  I noticed that the Indy vehicles were 10 bucks.  There were some Transformers, but only limited to the large universe ones like Onslaught, Powerglide and a few others for 18 bucks.

With the first official Canadian Joe Convention wrapped up, Joecanuck would like some feedback.  What did you guys like?  What didn't you like?  What can be improved upon?

Ontario / Wyldstar - Oshawa
« on: February 28, 2009, 12:36:23 PM »
If anybody is still looking for 25th single packs, a local comic and toy store in Oshawa named Wyldstar has several, including army builders.  The are all on American card, pricing from 10.99 to 11.99 CAN.  Considering TRU sells the crappy international packing at 10.99, the price point for this is great.  They also have the first wave of Combat Hereos, the Desert and Winter extreme packs, vintage items etc..  Plus they carry the new IDW GIJOE comic book if your into it.

They are located downtown

Wyldstar
19 Simcoe Street North
Oshawa

between King Street and Bond Street

General Joe Talk / Toy Fair '09: 25th 3/4 figures in seven figure packs
« on: February 15, 2009, 11:59:50 AM »
WTF.  No more single packs if I am reading this correct and this "might" be the last 25th classic look until the movie come out.

GI JOE: Assault on Cobra Island with Outback, Recondo, Zap, Chuckles, Hit & Run, Wetsuit and SPC Altitude (aka Ripcord)

Cobra: Defense of Cobra Island:  Dr. Mindbender, Ranger Viper, Alley Viper, Lampreys, Night Creeper, Strato Viper and damaged Cobra Bat

I want to see Wet Suit with his accessories to make a final judgement as this is the only figure I am luke warm on.

I can't be the only one who doesn't like the bastardization of Ripcord's name. All because of some dumbass in Hollywood didn't want to use Stalker's name.

Well, sooner of later, pictures were going to surface.  M.A.R.S. Troopers 3 Pack  and Baroness & Breaker

These M.A.R.S. figures look decent.  Plus, I can easily see these figures fitting into a regular 25th Destro IG army, whether you dig the movie figures or not.

Breaker is ok.  But it's not the Breaker I am use to.   Baroness = meh.

General Joe Talk / 2009 G.I. JOE RESOLUTE comic packs

Shockblast and Destro

Storm Shadow and Tunnel Rat

The only thing that bugs me is that large Cobra insigna on Destro.  Destro should never have a Cobra insigna anywhere on his uniform.   The rest of the figures look like a win to me.

Wave 7 2008 (or 25th Wave 11) is out.  The wave consists of Sgt. Airborne, Cobra Eel, Flint, Scarlett, Specialist Trakker and Zartan.

I have found them this week at a Wal-Mart in Toronto and Oshawa.
