i took the mick out of ICS's codename in my AF fan-fic.

Battle Action Force featured an SAS Force guy called 'Haggis'.

my fan-fic is a modern reboot of AF.

Haggis appears in a single scene where Eagle complains to The Commander that he doesn't like Haggis' name and thinks it's stupid. He further complains it could lead to more stupid food-related codenames like 'Pie'n'mash' or 'Ice Cream Soldier' or 'Yorkshire Pudding'. he further suggests that if Haggis is such a Scotphile, he use something like 'Claymore' or something...

Yes, I believe ninjas are the reason the toy line died. The original kids got older and went, wait, sword vs M16? I know who I'm backing in this fight.

Well if you look on the back of the PoC cards, it says under the mission City strike "the G.I.Joe team uses their ninja training as they infiltrate a cobra warehouse"

Looks like their all ninjas now.

I'm now collecting the Battlecorps mint on card. It's easier than having to complete them when they're loose and they're for the most part pretty affordable too  ;D.

Yep, that's what I've done too!! It's easier that way.. the only exception is that Roadblock from the '92 series with his recalled launcher..  ::)

i have him moc.

big down side for me was the ninja force, and street fighter lines, and neon

tvtropes.com has a piece about ninjas and it says on there that the Joe line was killed by too many ninjas.

I think the stupidest element was all those crazy teams they had at the end of the line (Star Brigade, Ninja Force, Eco-Warriors, Battle Corps etc) that ended up killing off the line.  That, and the multiple repaints of the same figure, often just a year after the previous figure's release.  And the neon accessories.

Most of the figure molds from that era are pretty good.  As shown by GIJCC in the past, a fresh paint deco without the bright colours does wonders.  The accessories were crap by then.

The worst thing that could of happened was the release of the 1995 Unproduced Star Brigade Replicators.

As much as I love ninja, the whole Ninja Force thing wasn't very good.

28 year-old Jon doesn't think very much of Ninja Force, but 11 year-old Jon looooooved Ninja Force. The Storm Shadow that came in the set had a kick-ass paint job and it was really cool that he had a troupe of guys he could order around. In retrospect, they were all kind of stupid looking, but when you're a young'un, realism isn't at the top of the list.

Heck, whenever my guys were killed, I'd come up with a way to resurrect them. A straight-up resurrection in the comics would have fans screaming bloody murder.

The real death of the line was the Kenner acquisition, was it not?

I find that the name of these figures is also stupid: does anyone have a theory why these were called "Replicators"? What were they supposed to replicate in your opinion?
