Had a really good time at the con this year. Mainly due to getting to meet the various guests and a few board members. I attended all the panels and they were quite enjoyable. Meeting all of the artists was a lot of fun, particularly since they were all very approachable and willing to talk about their art. I spent a fair bit of time around Robert Atkins since he was actually doing my commission througout the day (A fantastic Recondo). Gave me an excuse to keep popping by and checking in and he had lots of great stories to tell about his art. I think this is one of the strongest aspects of this con, the guests are so accessible.

Well, I think I'm all prepped for tomorrow. Feeling relaxed knowing I was lucky enough to have preordered the con set. Can't wait to attend the panels and meet some of the guests, and hopefully will get to meet a couple fellow joe canuckers as well. I'll be wearing a bright orange ball cap if anyone wants to say hey.

Lots of good panels this year. Robert Atkins is my favourite current joe artist, so that should be fun, plus declassified, bellomo... I'm hopeful the hasbro panel will be informative, but I'm not sure what hasbro canada will be able to give us that's new and exciting. Definitely looking forward to tomorrow!

Ya know, as much as I'm a bit of a comic snob and was never a big fan of the cartoon, even as a kid, I still appreciate it. And I have a huge appreciation for voice acting. I think it is an under-appreciated skill/art. It's nice to see the actors getting their due these days at cons and on podcasts and the like. They're usually really interesting as guests.

Has to be Recondo. :)

Overall a solid lineup of guests. Fingers are crossed for a Marvel era artist.

Yearly CanJoeCon Discussion / Re: 2012 CJC Figure Reveal : JOE CANUCK

Question, will JC have a toque accessory?

No, but there is a part of this figure that's missing... I'll include that with the "Full Set" pictures next week.
Perhaps an alternate head with a toque?

I'll be looking for a couple sideshow figures at a decent price. Fat chance, but who knows. Last toy show i went to had zero sideshow joe figures that i could find. Unfortunately firefly is in ridiculous territory for prices these days.

Sideshow:
Firefly
Cobra Trooper
Red Ninja

Also be looking for SDCC figures and a couple more of the typically hard to find in canada 25th/30th/PoC figues:

SDCC Pink Zarana
SDCC Red Jinx
Crazy Legs
Shadow Tracker
Spirit

I'll also be looking for some star wars figures if they're at decent prices (vintage collection blu ray luke, dagobah landing luke).

I'm honestly not expecting to find much since my wants are so specific. Mainly looking forward to attending and meeting the guests.

Yearly CanJoeCon Discussion / Re: CJC WebStore feedback.

One feedback here... any chance for another night where we can secure our set?Let's say another 25... for those who were giving the bath to the kids and forgot about the time...  ::)
I sympathize! I managed to remember and delayed my daughter’s bath by 10 minutes to get my order through. Luckily she was cooperative at that moment as she has been having some ”terrible threes” moments lately!

As for the ordering process, as mentioned in the other thread, I hit the resources error probably 3 or 4 times along the ordering process. Each time a refresh managed to work and I moved on to the next step. In all it took about 3 or 4 minutes for me to get through the process. Not bad at all really.

Got my set (it will be my first CanJoeCon set). Thanks for the preorder opportunity!

A couple hiccups stating the resources were full or something, but made it though in about 4 minutes.

Edit: Wow, are they gone already? I redirected back to the store site after payment and checked the exclusives page out of curiosity and there is nothing available on the page!

Mmmmmm....

Will we see something (vehicle, accessory, fig) chromed this year?  ;)

WEDNESDAY ANSWER

Actually, that was something the CJC team discussed for this year.
Sadly, the place we used for the HATE has closed up shop. Which sucks, obviously.

But, re-reading your answer, you never said no....  :P
He is an Aes Sedai. Wheel of Time readers will get that. Otherwise, move along...  ;D
