Was discounted further to $14.99 but is now sold out... :(

Pretty sweet deal if you managed to snag one and have a PO Box or a friend in the US to ship it. It's also Free Shipping in the US too.

Toysrus.com does ship internationally but only on select items. Not sure if this was one of those items. I've never tried ordering from the .com site but I've been told that shipping is through the roof. Sort of how Target now ships to Canada, but shipping is like $40 for a $15 toy.

A little late on this, but I'll definitely be missing the Canadian Joe Con as well.

It was fun while it lasted. I had a chance to attend the last 3 years and it was a real blast to be able to see familiar faces and meet a bunch of new ones.

Mike and crew really put in a lot of hard work and put together a great show.

Everything was great top to bottom.

On a side note, Hasbro is putting its resources where it makes lots of money like Transformers and Marvel. GI Joe just doesn't have the legs to stand on at this time.

Quebec / Re: Legends will close on November 16 2013

Oui c'est vrai!!!

It's really sad to see their doors closing because I've been a customer at legends for the longest time, not exclusively, but I placed orders with them or went to the store a couple of times a year.

I still remember the first time I found their store in 2001 by accident while I just happened to be in the area. I can't believe it's been almost 13 years.

It was always nice to go to a physical store dedicated to toys and my hobby with friendly staff. It was the largest in Montreal. 16 years with an actual store I would say is successful, but hopefully they will continue online.

In these times, it is very difficult for businesses to survive. Toys do not have a lot of margin because they have to be competitive, and thus stores don't make a lot of profit unless they are selling lots.

There's still a few good places left here in Montreal, but I will miss Legends for sure. I will probably pass by one last time before it closes for good.

Nice Review. The Cobra one is excellent as well.

I only say the SE figure is the weak link because I have it already, but for any fan who missed out on him the first time around, this set has no weak link, they are all nice.

Awesome review as usual JoeNerd!

Thanks for being on the lookout and snagging up a set for me, which I got from you recently...definitely appreciated.

Yes, I haven't been lucky at all here. I was even out of town for a bit, and the 4 TRUs I hit were already cleaned out only leaving empty cardboard boxes there.

I wonder where you got the idea for a TF and JOE crossover.... ;)

Martin, problem is that TRU is only stocking these like 1 case to each store and who knows if they will get around to restocking. So, if you just happen to be the first one there you can pretty much get what you want. It only takes one fan or person to clean it up. The box only contains 2 full sets and in most cases people want duplicates, so it is really tough to find currently. It's just luck or if you are able to hit TRU everyday, which is not likely.

Thanks for the heads up, I was able to pick up a set at my local TRU last week. Only one case, so no troop builders left after I was done. Hopefully they put more out at some point for those that missed them.

I hope they put out troop builder sets at some point, because putting troopers in the cases at the same ratio as the characters is going to make them difficult to track down. And they're so cheep to army build too.

I imagine they will. I think this will be marketed more like LEGO stuff (they reissue Stormtroopers and other troopbuilders all the time)... And after all, they've already reissued Transformer Kreons in cheap little 5-packs, previously only availble by purchasing expensive sets.

The only thing I don't like about GI Joe Kre-o is that it's only available at TRU... I wonder if this is always going to be the case?

Well the way TRU is stocking these it's going to be slim pickings. Each TRU is only stocking a case or two at most it seems and the way they stock other exclusives, they don't restock too often. I hope I'm wrong on this.

It's better then them not showing up at all I suppose.

As for being a TRU exclusive only, I can see it being so for the next little while. It's been a struggle for Joes for some time now and things don't look like its going to change any time soon. It's difficult for Joes to exist in this world, with what's been going on. The truth is parents don't want toys for their kids that are associated with something that is much to real. Real people, guns, military, terrorism, etc. Sure, some of the same things exist in other toy lines like Transformers, but they are robots, TMNT, they are turtles and no guns, Halo, but the bad guys are Aliens. Parents can digest it a little more easy. Also aside from the movie there's no exposure for Joes for kids, no cartoon means no Joes at mass retail.

Thanks for sharing. They are neat for sure. Have you picked up all the sets? What's your thoughts on them?

That's too bad... I didn't miss one CJC since 2009.

Same here. Disappointing news for sure.

I always look forward to the con each year and to catch up and see familiar faces.

Scratch that, I got excited over the Marvel Mega Bloks line but that is because my son Dalton and I have been watching Avengers, Spiderman, etc... on DVD the past few weeks and we've been playing Mega Bloks together on rain days.

Too bad Mega Bloks no longer has the rights to Marvel, and after Spider-Man, there won't be any more new stuff from them as Lego now has the rights. Disney got Marvel and decided they wanted to work with lego.

I thought Mega Bloks did a great job with the characters with figures utilizing different pieces/heads, where with lego it's almost always the same buck with different paint mask.

The Canadian Joe Con gets better each year. All in all, just a real great experience. Wish I could have made it in earlier on Friday night.

A huge thanks to Mike and the whole CJC team for getting this all together. I really appreciate all the work that goes in each year to make it happen.

So glad to see familiar faces and catch up.

Jason is always a blast and his work keeps improving each year.

Glad to be able to chat it up with Gyre-Viper. I felt I learned a whole lot more on joes. Always nice to see James and Gary.

I was able to find a some goodies at the con and on the way there :)
