Buying & Selling Joes Around the GTA
« on: October 13, 2006, 12:09:59 PM »

I was wondering if anyone knows any shops in the GTA that sell GI Joes? I'm mainly looking for figures from 1982-1994, and to a lesser extent, figures from 1997-1998. I only know one place and that's The Wizard at Centerpoint Mall, but their prices are a little too high.

Has anyone had any experience selling joes to store owners and merchants?  I'm a bit reluctant because some store owners are notorious for ripping people off. I'm only considering that option because it would save time and create less headaches. If there are any collectible stores around Toronto that offer fair prices for joes please let me know.

Thanks for your help. :)

You should try bountyhunt... err.. there are conventions in the GTA every so often. They're usually your best bet to get good stuff.

I will like to know that, too.  Aside from going to a convention, are there any good location to buy/sell GIJOE figures?

brahmabull, does The Wizard buy GIJOE figures?  If so, how much do they usually pay for a loose ones?

That Wizard shop is still around?  Man, there prices were a rip off 6-7 years ago.

As for actual vintage toy shops like what Mike had, there really isn't anything in Toronto.  Best bet is toy shows.  If your are looking to sell, ebay is your best bet.

Ah, I just remembered. Monster Records on Yonge St. halfway between Bloor and Wellesley has some pretty good loose vintage Joe stuff as well as some MOC stuff.

After a seven year hiatus from the Toronto area I was hoping to do some more Joe related stuff on my upcoming trip.

No Bounty Hunter Toys.  Its sounds as if Samko/Miko stores are pretty much cleaned out.

It sounds as if I will be too late for the Burlington toy show.  Any other shows happening on November 5th?

Thanks for the info.  I will be spending most of my time in Mississauga so this may work well.  I will check your e-bay store when you have items listed again.
