I just saw the box the SDCC Skystriker comes in. WOW. Awesome! I saw it on that "other" site starts with an "H" so I didn't pull the picture from them.
-
Do we already know if it will be available here?
-
Hasbro Canada told us that we would have to go to hasbotoyshop.com on the monday following to get the exclusives. Prepare for F5 meltdown!
-
Of course... and with $100 shipping fees, why not! .
-
This is an awesome set. I love the little Megatron that CC comes with.
-
I'm still holding out hope for Fan Expo to get a shipment of the SDCC exclusives like they did last year. Early rumours are they won't be able to this year, but I am still hoping!!!

If I recall correctly Habro Canada during the Q and A specifically said they will not be getting them.
-
That is also what I recall Neo. I guess we'll have to wait for someone to put their Q&A footage on youtube just to be sure.
-
Hasbro was asked if they would have them at Fan Expo and the answer was always the same - no. They could not get any to hand out.
-
Just got an email from the GIJoe Collectors club stating they won't have any this year either. I'm half thinking it's a ruse to get people to stop bugging them because each year they end up with some after saying they don't know if there will be any.

The text on the prototype box (shown at Florida Joecon) says:
"For the first time ever, we are celebrating a unique episode in the history of G.I. JOE. From 1985 to 1987, Marvel Comics produced a four-comic series that told the story of G.I. JOE and COBRA discovering the existence of the TRANSFORMERS. This special series briefly brought together these two epic worlds and chronicled the dramatic consequences of this discovery. To celebrate this special moment in time, we have created the first action vehicle that combines G.I. JOE and TRANSFORMERS vehicles and characters!"
I have two questions about this: the comic ran from January 1987 to April 1987... why does it mention 1985?
And while I no longer own these comics (I sold mine many years ago), I don't remember Starscream or Cobra Commander being in those comics... was this a sidestory I missed?
The Starscream deco'd jet does look really nice though, especially the scale rubsign (it would be cool if it actually works!).

that article gives you most of the plot. there's links to more articles if you wish

Thanks for the info Sundance! But now I'm even more confused... Cobra Commander disappears half-way through the series (he was presumed dead in continuity) and Starscream's only appearance is a cameo that takes place after that. Seems SDCC should've made a Dirge Skystriker and Serpentor pilot, as they were the most prominent Decepticon Seeker/Cobra Leader in the comics!

i shouldn't worry about it much. it's not tied into GI Joe continuity and it's barely worth bothering with in TF continuity except for providing the US explanation for Bumblebee's transformation (arf) into Goldbug.
it's actually a pretty pony and trap story...
