Title: Toy Shows for Joes
Post by: Radio Guy on March 13, 2007, 10:31:03 PM
I hit the Hamilton and Burlington shows quite often, as do some of you...just wondering if the London shows are any good.  I'm visiting my brother in law in St. Thomas this weekend, and talked the wife into swinging by the London Toy Show on Sunday.  Anyone know what I can expect?

thanks!

I've never made it out there - but if you're swinging by it - you wanna take some flyers for the Joe Meet?  :shifty:

so i went there today, and it was a complete waste of time.  first, they would not let me put any joe meet flyers on the table at the entrance.  then, the inside was weak.  fewer vendors than at the hamilton or burlington shows, and 75 percent of all the table were sports cards and coins.  the toys that were there were ass, or stupidly priced.  on top of all this, they actually charge for parking as well as two bucks to get in.  i will not be heading to the london "toy" show again.

Wow... that just umm... sucks.

Savethe flyers for the Hamilton show then Bryan, I appreciate the effort.

What morons? No flyers?

I have never heard the phrase " the toys that were there were ass". lol  I might use that line in describing most of Joe stuff that was released the past few years.

I wish I could have come across this thread a few days earlier, so I could have saved Radio Guy some time. The London and Woodstock shows are both pointless wastes of time. There used to be 2 vendors out this way with decent Joe merch, but one I haven't seen in a few months, and the other I have his number and just get my stuff straight from his house  ;D

Take that back man!!!  ;-)
I LOVE the woodstock show (not for Joes mind you), I've never been to one that I didn't spend at least $50-$100.00 at.

There's always some 'farmer guy' with old stuff (megos, fisher price, star wars, etc) and prices it cheap. - Not always the same guy mind you - but still.

There's one in two weeks I think?.... April 1st. I plan on going = again. ;-)

Sorry, I meant from a solely Joe point of view. The funny thing about the Woodstock show is that 90% of the time I walk away with such random and non toy related stuff. So far my favourite find is a grenade shaped alarm clock that plays revelly (spelling?).....though I could certainly do with a few less tractors at that place.

Ive been dissapointed with the London show both times i went.  Its much smaller then the other shows and mainly deals in hockey cards and hotwheels(lots of dealers).  There are not many mom and pop tables(garage salers) where you get most of the deals from.  Of the 90 or so tables i could only find a handfull of any gi joe items and one Radio shack soundwave and some pretenders Transformers.  If i was to be in the neigbourhood again i would go;  all there is to lose is $4.00($2.00 entrance/$2,00 parking).  It would kill and hour anyways.  :)  Ive always wanted to hit the Woodstock show but weather, Laziness(sleeping in) and buying something previously on Ebay has thwarted any attempts thus far.

I went - not looking for anything - mainly to put out flyers for the Joe Meet.

The $122.00 Speeding ticket I got on the way there enforced that I didn't buy anything.

I dropped off flyers, then pretty much headed home.

Mind you, I did still pick up two Joker figures. :-)
