Rapid Deployment Force
« on: November 10, 2011, 12:09:33 PM »

Here's my urban rapid deployment force for my Joes that are sent in to provide backup for other Joe units that may be pinned down.

Leader:  Rapid Fire
When I hear Rapid Fire, first thing to come to mind is that green monstrosity that Hasbro gave us with the VHS tape.  Well, this one is actually based on the 12" version.  YOJOE.COM | Rapid-Fire

The grey helmet that came with Rollbar went to Sneak Peek so I gave him a protec helmet.

Next up is the communications officer Sparks:
This is who Sparks is: YOJOE.COM | Alex "Sparks" Verdi
This is not an update to that version, just my re-imagining of him in a sub team.

Last we have the urban Infantry trooper.  He is just part of the ranks of the Steel Brigade that is trained for urban warfare.  Wish I had more but for now, 1 will do.  If anyone's got extra Resolute Firefly's, let me know.  I don't need any of his gear.

They all have the climbing gear so they can be dropped in by helicopter for rapid response...hehe

I actually like these a lot. At first I questionned the utility of Sparks in your sub-team, but looking at him with and without the helmet, I see now that this is exactly what Sparks would look like if he got a bit more muscle and rapid deployment training. Good job. And the head feels right too.

I also like how your Rapid-Fire is a loyal translation of the 12" series figure. Down to the colour of the hair, he is Rapid-Fire. You know, this is something that I enjoy seeing in custom work: when Joes of other sizes are brought down to the 3 3/4" or 4" scale shall we say, we can finally appreciate what Hasbro would've been able to accomplish in an alternate reality had it not been for a question of timing and sales factors.

Urban Infantry trooper is well, still Resolute Firefly to me. Always a pleasure looking at your work Nighthawk, so keep them coming.
