G.I. JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO sets

(Approximate retail price of $25.00; Ages: 5 & up; Available: Summer 2007)

Sure to delight fans both new and old, 25th Anniversary Figures are all new sculpts and the most detailed and articulated G.I. JOE figures ever! Hasbro kick-offs the anniversary with the release two special-edition sets, each containing five classic G.I. JOE characters from the A REAL AMERICAN HERO line. Characters include G.I. JOE force’s fearless patriots DUKE, SNAKE EYES, GUNG HO, SCARLET and ROAD BLOCK, as well as their slithery adversaries COBRA COMMANDER, DESTRO, STORM SHADOW, BARONESS and a COBRA TROOPER. Each pack also comes with a sound box in the shape of the G.I. JOE logo that plays the beloved theme from the G.I. JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO animated series.

Quote
G.I. JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO single packs

(Approximate retail price of $6.00; Ages 5 & up; Available: Fall 2007)

Each of the fifteen 3-3/4-inch figures – in replica G.I. JOE packaging circa 1982 – will feature new sculpts, enhanced articulation, and a base stand featuring the character’s name.

Still would have preferred all single sets but oh well.

Hot Damn! I was hoping for

This makes me very happy. Army builders might frown at how impossible it will be to stock up on Cobra Trooper but I wouldn't be surprised to see this guys get the single card treatment later.

Besides, I LOVE the price on these.

All this good news pretty much ensures we won't get them in Canada.

I hope this isn't the case but it wouldn't surprise me if Canadians get the shaft again.

Oh great.  I can't wait for the same typical whine and cheese from some on a couple of other message boards in regards to this.  Whaaaaaa, I couldn't get the Infantry 6 pack or multiples of it because of those damned scalpers.  My hillbilliy TRU doesn't have any.  Blah, blah, blah.  Mean while, I basically begged and had to do extra leg work (i.e. drive to Buffalo) to get the items I wanted because the retailers up here don't give a crap.

And after my London trip, I got a once in a lifetime chance to beef my v1.5 Cobra and Cobra Officers with some cherry mint ones.  So I won't be army builder the new stuff. No need.

Ok, what the F@*&^ happened.

The Hasbro pre-production versions look way better than what is currenlty shown at Toy Fair. My bridal enthusiasm for these figures as gone down the toilet.

Uh oh, is that a little 'Sigma 6' I smell, instead of realism?  And WTF happened to Scarlett's head??
I'll still get them, though, I'm just a little less enthusiastic.  This has me nowhere near as pissed as I am with Hasbro (and Michael Bay) over the terrible new Transformer designs.

Most of them appear to have different head sculpts - why are they butchering this series of figures.

I am hoping the ones being shown at ToyFair are earlier prototypes - and the ones that got posted online are from closer to the finished product.  Oh please let me be right - I was really looking forward to some good looking action figures.
