2007 GI JOE collectors convention location is....

According to GITrekker who some how gets his newsletter quicker than most, the convention will be held in Atlanta, GA at the Marriott Marquis on September 27-30.

The Pros
The convention for once will not kill my Canada Day long weekend plans for a change.  And considering my insurance renew bill comes in on July, it's a nice a break.

The Negs
It's in the deep south for two years in a row.  And worse, it's the freaking city that bribed and stole the 1996 Summer Olympics from Athens.  Something I will never forget.

I might go to this one.  I'd like to go but it's a ways away and I want to see what kinda of treatment GIJoe is really going to get from Hasbro this year for the anniversary; if they support it like it deserves and Master Collector follows suit, cool but if it's half ass on either parts, the convention planning might reflect it and that would suck.   :-

That's after I'm back at school, so I won't have the time or money for the Con this year, and Atlanta isn't a city I'd ever wanted to visit.

Looks like a 14 1/2 hour drive from K-town. I doubt I'm going again but you never know. I'm pretty sure if i went I wouldn't fly down. I agree with Pete, what's up with the south getting it again? Guess my plea for Niagara Falls has fallen on deaf ears.

Curt, unless something happens I will be there.  But I am flying down this time.

After hitching a ride with Pete (Deadshot) last year to go down to NO, no way I would not recommend driving again that far south.

It may not be a fancy-dancy big thing like the 'official' one, but it is alot cheaper to get to. ;-)

I like going to both.   Same type of guys I like dealing with in the hobby but with a totally different feel.
