Wild Weasel or Blackstar?
« on: June 29, 2011, 12:43:16 PM »

Here's my latest 5 min LBC.  I don't know if I want to call him Blackstar or Wild Weasel.  What do you guys think?  He looks like a cool Wild Weasel, but I wanted to have more pilots and this could be Blackstar as a regular Cobra pilot before that Star Brigade nonsense...haha.

What do you guys think?

The belt just goes over the outside of his vest on the back and the front is just tucked in (it can't close so I use the vest to hide that fact)

Here's a picture of the hose unplugged to show how it looks.

Concept Resolute Wild Weasel perhaps?

I think that the red color still makes him look like a Wild Weasel, but that's just me. Otherwise he looks great.

Interesting set-up.  Too bad the red colour is closely associated with Wild Weasel.  Maybe he could be an AVAC or Strato-Viper variant?  Seeing as he doesn't have Cobra sigils on him, you could also make him a modern Iron Grenadiers TARGAT.  Or maybe even Red Wolf (Roboskull pilot)!

Thanks for the comments.  I didn't know about Red Wolf before but now that I know, I think he should be Red Wolf as he has a red and black color scheme too.  Thanks for the suggestion.

I second also Formbx257's Red Wolf suggestion, it's a very clever idea.

Why not create an all-new character?

Look-down--COBRA Pilot.
Real Name: Classified.
Military speciality pilot, bomber pilot.

Look-down has the dark distinction of being the only GIJOE to ever defect TO Cobra. The only son of a wealthy billionaire family and accustomed to an affluent life-style he joined the air force looking to fly high-performance jets for speed and excitement.
Look-down was an exceptional pilot, but he bored easily, and exhibited some resentment of authority. Nevertheless, his skills as a pilot and airman qualified him for the JOE team and got him brought on board. He flew several missions for the team before he started to show his problem side. Look-down considers himself to be an exceptionally gifted pilot and worthy of special treatment because of it.
He was accused of almost leaving some Joes behind on a mission and was about to be brought before a board of inquiry, but defected to COBRA just prior. The security breach of his defection was moderate, because Look-down was not privy to many Joe secrets. He does have knowledge of operations and equipment in the Joe air wing which could present problems.

Within COBRA, intel has revealed that Look-down is condescending and brash towards other troopers and his superiors. He lords over any and everyone he can, and insist on having things HIS way. Never mind that COBRA is an evil organization bent on ruling the world, Look-down has his own agenda about things.

NOTE: There s a standing order for all Joes and US military and Allied forces that Look-down is to be captured or arrested on sight.

General Hawk, on being asked about Look-down: " No. Comment."

( his callsign/code-name comes from air-to-ground radar and targeting systems, commonly referred to a "look-down/shoot-down" systems)
