Off Topic / Marvel Figures?
« on: October 08, 2007, 10:34:55 PM »
Hey guys, Happy Thanksgiving.

Just wondering if anyone knows what is going to be available for the new Marvel figures in Canada? There are some 2 packs coming that I know about, and some waves of Hasbro Marvel figures I haven't seen yet. And I have been out of the loop but wondering if anyone else has been keeping up with whats coming?

Off Topic / Giant Tiger?

How do you guys feel about the Giant Tiger stores? Do they have a good selection of toys? What else do they carry? Have you worked for them or know someone that has?

Yearly CanJoeCon Discussion / Thinking
« on: February 22, 2007, 06:27:38 PM »
I'm in the planning stages of coming out to the meet. Where is a good cheap place to stay? Do you guys do anything the night before, should I come out for the night before or the day of the meet? Do you guys do anything in the day or so after the meet?

I would really like to come out. But I haven't bought anything GI Joe since I can't remember. My interest in getting any Joe stuff is next to nothing. The latest pictures from Toyfair make me really sad. Sigma Six stuff is garbage in my opinion. The 25th Anniversary figures can go down the toilet right after S6, in my opinion.

Introductions / Hello?
« on: January 04, 2007, 04:47:48 PM »
Hello there, its been a long time since I've been around so I just wanted to say that I'm back and should be able to check in with some regularity. If anyone even noticed I wasn't around. But I was super busy with work, someone should have told me that TRU is crazy busy in the months before Christmas! Oh the overtime hours!  ::) ;D

Off Topic / The Meat
« on: October 11, 2006, 12:01:14 PM »
TRU has just starting carrying a 6inch scale of figures based on the Rocky I movie. They are made by Jakks. As they were put on the shelf, I started looking at them, and each figure in the case was different, so I looked at the back to see which figures they had made. One picture in the lineup was definitely not a regular figure. It is The Meat. From when Rocky is training in the meat freezer against the frozen animal carcass, they decided to make The Meat. It is simply one of the strangest things I have ever seen from a toy line. So I bought it, I'm guessing they will be recalled since they are not appropriate for a kids toy. Its gross and funny all at the same time.

Not a picture of mine but that is what it looks like.

Has anyone seen this before? Is this new? Or is this old and I'm the last one to see it?

Off Topic / Smackdown vs Raw 2006
« on: September 11, 2006, 07:11:55 AM »
I've found myself playing this game again. It's sat for some time without being played, probably because I can't seem to get further ahead. I played through and finished a 'season' of Smackdown and two 'seasons' of Raw, but the Raw title belt is still locked. Plus I did not come across things like Legend Battle Royal and Bar Brawl in either season. Which season are those events in, does anyone know? Also, I thought I beat the Undertaker in the buried alive match, but didn't since I don't have the urn trophy. Which season was that in?

Off Topic / Going to Ontario
« on: August 24, 2006, 10:53:22 AM »
Tomorrow morning I fly to Ontario for a family gathering. I have never been to Ontario, in fact the farthest west in Canada that I have been is Winnipeg, and that was over 10 years ago. I'm excited. I don't know if I'll get a chance to hit any toy stores, where I am going is near Peterborough apparently. Is there any place anyone can recommend if I get a chance to explore?

Off Topic / ML Giant Man Wave @ TRU
« on: August 19, 2006, 07:54:41 PM »
I'm probably too late with this, but thought I mention it anyway. A couple of days ago, at my TRU we got in a couple of cases of the ML Giant Man wave, however today I watched the last remaining figures walk out the door. They have probably hit most every TRU by now, but I bet most of them also have sold most of their stock. I haven't had a chance to check if or when more might be arriving.

Off Topic / Operation TRU Infiltration...
« on: August 15, 2006, 09:38:59 AM »
I have successfully infiltrated TRU. Several weeks ago I was hired on as an assistant manager and I am currently running the night crew which fills the shelves. It's kind of nice to finally be on the other side. It's also nice to see most of the new product before everyone else, because otherwise I'd never see it all. Now it would be really cool if some of the regular Joe stuff would start showing up in stores. We have lots of the Sigma 6 stuff but I don't give a flip about any of it.  :?
