20 year collecting hiatus now OVER!

Just cleaned out the parents attic and decided to assess the old collection that had been there for 20+ years. Turns out I have a memory like an elephant as far as Joes are concerned and all it took was a quick assembly of my old Skystriker to cause a "Joe relapse". formbx257's terrific videos led me here.

Just as all my joe bro's here said, welcome man, there is no better feeling then hauling out your old stuff, the bug bit my 2 years ago and the people on here have been just awesome in helping me complete stuff and get figures that I didn't have. My collection now is just the size I want it (though I wouldn't say no to a Defiant, or a Cobra Terrordrome, or even for that fact as Flagg)....but I have all the right vechiles and a 83 HQ, something I got for Christmas from HUBCITYTOYS....man you have to check out that site if you are looking for something Jodi is great and has help me a bunch, same with Mike at Bountyhuntertoys.

I'm afraid I haven't got a Defiant, Flagg or Terrordrome, I'll enjoy the ones at Toy Traders for now.

what's worse is getting stuff out of storage where it's been for 20-some years and it's fine, putting it in a new store some where easier to get to and then have 4 things get bust because you over-packed the new box. :(

Welcome aboard!

You have come back at a pretty good time if you are a Joe collector.  Outside of really rare stuff, or exclusive (convention) items, you have hit a time when the brand and it's collectors are in a lull.  Prices are down pretty much across the board and you can probably top up your collection for much cheaper than you would have been able to 5 years ago. 

Whatever you do, remember to enjoy.

It was more expensive 5 years ago? This is good news!

I'm pretty lucky in that when I was collecting I was able to get almost every carded figure before 1987 for $0.25 from various friends that had them and any missing weapons or filecards from others (in 1988 mind you).

Other than a few rare guys (among my friends) and vehicle drivers I usually had 3+ to choose the one in the best shape.

Ah for the good old days.....

And who'd have thought that crappy S.M.S. with no figure would be worth so much? Who knew?
