Title: So Raptor wasn't TOTALLY wrong....
Post by: Stealth Viper on July 04, 2007, 04:48:47 PM
I found the Sigma 6 Ninja Showdown set at Winners in the Pen Centre today..

Wasn't 9.99 as Raptor thought, but $14.99. Still a good price, so I nabbed it.

So far, I'm unsure as to my opinion...

Totally ripped off.

They were already on markdown at mine. I expect that the other winners will also mark them down to that level as well. Maybe if they go down to $5 I'll pick them up and do a sig six custom.

I picked them up for like $3 us when the TRU over the border was closing.

I kind of like the switchblade nunchuck.

I doubt this winners was going to mark it down, as it was their last one.

Plus, between the Hamilton one not having any, and the one near my work not having any, I don't think there are tons left in the chain.

Really? Bizarre.

I was in for 3 weeks in a row and they hadn't moved. I'll hit the stoney creek one and see if there are any left.

Glad that you got one anyway Ed, even if it wasn't as great a deal as you'd hoped.

Hurray. Picked up my set today. Same deal as Ed, last set, $14.99. I have to ask you guys a question. Is it just me or does it bother anyone else when they include more gear then the figure can hold? And what's up with the wholes at the end of the staff?

Oh, and thanks Charles! Now I own my first Sigma Six figures.

You guys were just looking for an excuse.

On the extra gear, the figures usually come with a footlocker thing to store the extra gear in. Being a guy that likes the 12" figures (read: old) you should be used to that kind of thing.

Actually the detailed weapons and stuff are pretty much the best part of the line. A lot of the figures come with interchangeable parts that you can't use all at once either, because they fit together like puzzle pieces.

Moving and interchangeable parts can be a lot of fun. If you get one of the 20 or so Dukes, they usually come with a lot of crap that you attach to his handgun to make it a laser rifle, machine gun, snowblower, whatever... You can't make it all those tings at once though, and the unused pieces pretty much have to sit in his footlocker.

If those Duke with Giant Freakin gun monstrosities ever go on sale I'm going to buy one and make it a vehicle weapon. It's a damned cool toy, though it would be out of scale for even 12" figures.

Which I don't collect. Because I'm not old. ;-)

It bugs me a little when a figure, Sigma Six or otherwise, comes with more gear than he can carry, but it bugs me more when Sigma Six figures come with extra gear that without plugs. Every figure has a dozen little holes built into him so he can be fully decked out, why waste one of the line's coolest gimmicks?

The latest waves have packed in fewer weapons and most each come with spring loaded missile launchers. Yeah, very early 90s ARAH. Some of the missile launchers are cool, but give me a guy armed to the teeth with pistols and knives any day.

Speaking of 12' figures, the 12' figures with the Kung Fu grip are coming back to Walmart (US) in August for 10 bucks a pop. If anyone sees these guys here in Canada please post about it. That or if anyone jumps the boarder for some shopping a happen across these then drop me a PM. For $10.00 each I'm totally drooling over these, but that might be because I'm old.  ;D
