Ok, not sure how to get the pic to post straight away so here is the link:
http://www.gijoecon.com/tx2014/con14labrats.cfm (http://www.gijoecon.com/tx2014/con14labrats.cfm)
I think it is a great looking figure with a fairly ingenious use of the Dusty head. 2 of them (army builder) in the set. I like the colours and the lab coat, especially with the ARBCO logo as well.
Overall a really good start.
-
I'm not blown away with this one. I don't care for the Cobra blue and it looks too much like Cobra Commander to me.
I like this photoshop someone did on the facebook page much more:

Speaking from experience, when you wear a lab coat you don't want something as restrictive as that CC torso and you keep it buttoned up. Leaving it open like that defeats the purpose of a lab coat.
Not a strong start.
-
I don't like the head-choice on that figure at all.
-
Not blown away, kind of a meh figure.

Or maybe a meth figure.
Bazinga!
Yep, I watched Breaking Bad.
;D

Now we have the box art as well.....

Not sure I like it that much. It is kind of cool, but doesn't really strike me as the best choice for the box art.

I suppose one could complain that the set for celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the brand has little or nothing to do with anything the brand has put forward in the past 50 years, but that is on the Club. I liked the Zombie concept revealed last year, and it was topical and interesting.......but my feeling is that it's out of place this time around. If it were to come out NEXT year, sure.......but not for the 50th anniversary.

It's the 50th anniversary of the 12" guys. So they should be properly celebrating that with 12" zombies, of course.

The next figure is out:

For me it's a meh!?!
-
yeah not that excited so far, but it really doesn't matter what I think since I was never going to buy this set anyaway. Hope they get better.
-
Now did they purposely not paint that head gold just to be different from the original or did someone drop the ball and forget to double check?

I think it's a photoshop mockup. Hard to get gold in photoshop, so might as well do yellow.
That being said, if the actual figure doesn't have a gold head...
-
Swing and a .........miss!!!!
Blah, not even remotely interested after really liking the first figure revealed.
Oh well, no loss for me anyway.

http://www.gijoecon.com/tx2014/con14ecoflint.cfm (http://www.gijoecon.com/tx2014/con14ecoflint.cfm)
And here's FLINT!!!!!!..............................
Sweet. Another great job by the club. Love the new head and they even did a new mold helmet.
So far 2 out of 3 for me. Hopefully this set only gets better from here.
-
Better than the first two but that's not saying much. The first two reveals were awful. Then need to realize that a large part of the collector base has become accustom to top notch products.
Lab Rat looks too much like Cobra Commander. He gets a D
Gold Steel Brigade is mostly a repaint of a figure I already have about 5 -7 of. Yes his legs are different but it's not enough. $25 for a repaint won't cut it for me anymore. He gets an F
Flint is better. New head, new helmet and creative us of that body. The original figure was a turd, this is actually an improvement. He's not crap, be he's not great. I expect better. Just look at Cross Country or any of the FSS figures that aren't repaints. Those are worth my money. I give him a B-.
-
I like Flint. (except the whole color scheme of the set) Great head sculpt.
-
Here's T'Jbang: http://www.gijoecon.com/tx2014/con14tjbang.cfm (http://www.gijoecon.com/tx2014/con14tjbang.cfm)
Looks like a wrestler from the tag team The Killer B's.
-
Wow this set continues to be a disappointment, cause we haven't got enough Ninjas already. The colours are atrocious. I do agree with B that the Flint headsculpt is pretty nice.
-
well, it IS based on a Ninja Force guy from the '90s...
-
Golly I'm going to sound like a contrarian.......didn't like the first three figures, but I like T'Jbang.
The colour combo just seems to work here......even if he's another ninja. But it's one out of four figures shown..... and that's not enough to pull me in. Heck......sorry, but the price alone is enough to keep me out. I just don't think there's a steak they could put together with enough sizzle to get me on board.
-
I will say that I am glad to see that the club is trying new things, while also incorporating more of the original ARAH run figures that still haven't received an update.
Of course I am in the minority apparently though when it comes to the Lab Rat figure. I LOVE IT!!!!
As ARROW said though, still not going to spend my money on this set.

Here we have Ozone:
http://www.gijoecon.com/tx2014/con14ozone.cfm (http://www.gijoecon.com/tx2014/con14ozone.cfm)
-
I like the figs in this set. I just dunno if I like 'em enough to drop $400 on 'em. I will gladly buy everyone's unwanted Toxo Vipers and Toxo Zombies though.
-
T'Jbang would make a better FSS figure then a convention figure.
Eco Force dude is a nice update but considering I hated the original, meh
T'Jbang = B-
Eco Force Ozone = C +

I will keep you in mind as I'm debating on going to Dallas myself. The hotel is already booked up unless you want to drop $270 per night, so not sure now.
-
Toxo-Viper!:
http://www.gijoecon.com/tx2014/con14toxovipers.cfm (http://www.gijoecon.com/tx2014/con14toxovipers.cfm)
Now we're talking!
-
.not bad, so far the best of the bunch. Colors are ok. Helmet looks great. If this was available at retail I would consider buying it, but its weapons come off a little uninspiring.
-
I have a mixed reaction with the set. A ninja in a zombie set? As such, I will reserve my judgement until all the figures have been revealed.
-
Toxo Viper is nice but I strongly suspect the biggest hits of this set will be the souvenirs. I suspect we'll see some of those Zombie Cobra figures Zombie Cobra Commander as souvenirs.
Toxo Viper himself has a nice head sculpt and I'd love to see under the helmet. It displays well but I'm having a hard time getting past the fact that I already recognize the body. Here's the problem with the 25th anniversary stuff. They used a lot of the same body parts and dressed them up with accessories over the base bodies. Now it's getting to the point that they've been reused to many times. Not the GIJCC's fault. This is where ARAH figures offered more selection.
Anyhow, I do like Toxo Viper but not enough to want to buy a box set. I give him a B+.

I CERTAINLY HOPE NOT

Clean-Sweep and Ozone are must haves for me. Nice updates.

I'm a huge Outback fan, but this version (http://www.gijoecon.com/tx2014/con14outback.cfm (http://www.gijoecon.com/tx2014/con14outback.cfm)) looks weird...

Send me your Toxo-Zombies!

Well all the figures are up now and honestly this year is an easy pass for me. I'd rather put the $370 towards my mortgage or buy some of the stuff they have on sale at the club right now for 50% - 90% off right now.
The 50th anniversary toys coming this fall have me more excited.
There is always next year.
-
nothing about this set excited me from the start, even as an ARAH fan I've been interested in Night Force, Oktober Guard and the Heroic Commandos stuff. I'd sooner they'd done Tiger Force, a 50th set like OB's stuff or hell, even Sky Patrol. Or a set from Commandos Em Acao, the Brazilian exclusives.

"Even Sky Patrol"? We would be LUCKY to get Sky Patrol. One of the best sub teams ever. All new characters, bad-ass helmets and guns, dual specialties, silver vehicles. Hoo boy!
-
Sky Patrol just seemed like the least likely set they'd do this year.
