Shipped from Sweden, yet "printed in the USA"?

How does that make any sense? They print them in the USA, send them to Sweden and then mail them from there? Smells like bullshit.

That would cost them too much.... Bullshit is expensive.

It's probably just regular every day "Savage Shit".

Ugh. Mike, start a news letter.

I'm sort of kidding when I say that but honestly, I'm sure we could put out something half way decent. Lets break down the average MC news letter:

Phase one, hype the up coming con, it's figures and guest. Throw in a mention of pre-orders for an on line store. Yep, we could do that.

Phase two, a cool dio story. I'm sure we could get that done. Heck, Justin is a member here. If it's a conflict of interest then print a few of Travel Joe Canuck stories. That could be a whole section in itself.

Phaser three, do a figure review and it's history. Pete is the man when it comes to the international figures. Ask him to slap together a one page review every month. An international review would be cool coming from an Canadian group since we are outside the USA.

Phaser four, some 12' figures making fun of Big Jim. I got a bunch of Big Jim and 12' Joe figures in the attic somewhere and a digital camera.

The only really big piece of the puzzle of what's missing is what's new and coming from Hasbro. Maybe one of the on line US stores who orders product in advance could help with that.

Make it a PDF on the web landing page for everyone to download and were done. Heck, throw in some add some for one of the on line stores even.

Yeah, I know this most likely won't happen but I'm just saying it could.

And for no reason, I want to use the Mr. T icon now.

Without using a letter - let's see what I try to do from it already:

Have you been to JoeCustoms.com lately? Check Scramble, Raptor, Viperlord and my sig. ;-) (Add it in yours too!) Now we just need to get EVERYONE that posts here, and also posts in other boards to do the same thing. ;-)

Well... we have a store... the stock is running thin - but we have one.

Well.. the "store" has some comments from people  :shifty:

If only you knew a professional writer with a passion for GI Joe. Preferably one that's appeared on TV twice discussing his hobby.  :shifty:

Man, how much would MC hate us if we did that?

I really don't care what MC would think.... I mean, they do seem to care more about their Transformer stuff instead of Joe stuff, and messed up this Tank pretty bad in my opinion.

This years figure for the Joe Meet was started MONTHS ago - the name and idea was done pretty much within a month of the last meet, and the figure was "decided" during a visit at Stealths house this past summer. If a small group of us can get our shit together, and do everything BY HAND, there's no reason a place as big as MC with all the "official" contacts they have shouldn't.

I think Hasbro should rethink the agreement they have with MC.... But they won't. Mainly due to the Transformers end of it. I swear, if Lucasfilm didn't own Star Wars, Savage would have a Star Wars Con yearly as well.

New year is a few weeks away. If Anyone is interested in seriously starting up a Canadian Joe Newsletter, PM me.  We're small - but known enough that people will read it.
Great idea Dave.... I may have to let you beat me at wrestling next year. LOL.

This where my frustration lies with MC, the GIJOE collectors club or what ever they call themselves today.  The Maulers should have been manufactured in the spring of 2007.  If something hits the fan (and it had), then there would plenty of time to execute a plan B.  Glad to see Mike has the business sence to avoid shit like this.

I should also state that I am in no way comparing 30 hand made figures to a production run of vehicles.... but you see my point. ;-)

Don't worry about that, their letter of complaint would arrive about a month late because it would be shipped from Sweden ;D

Back on topic. Brian has posted over on the MC board. Apperently the problem lies with FedEx and asks that we contact the club directly:

Quote
morgardee,

There is an 800 number for orders 800-772-6673.

Also, FedEx handles the foreign mail shipments. We don't track things through the forums, we track them by who calls or emails customer service 817-448-9863.

Then we can see if there seems to be a global problem.

Brian

So please, all Canucks please pick up the phone and call the 800 number and let them know your issues are showing up late.

I will call them myself tomorrow about the December issue. We don't need to be rude. Just let them know that it's taking over 40 days for our news letters to arrive.  I also noticed the news letter says on the bottom of the front page (upside down) "This issue mailed on or before October 25, 2007".

I'm pretty sure FedEx moves faster than 45 days to deliver a news letter. It also says " Postmaster Time Value: Please Deliever by Nov 12, 2007".

Lets all make some calls tomorrow if you we can. We all need to speak up on this one.
