It's funny how my expectations for this set are almost the opposite of what we're getting here.
I was most looking forward to a bare chested Sperpentor with removable cowl. The figure we're getting is a complete throw-away to me.
But the Firefly in that set, with menacing new head sculpt and v1 colours, is awesome. Who knew they could release the tenth someodd incarnation of that Firefly mold and it catch the eye better than any previous incarnation since the first?
I'm also big into that Scrap Iron. The Urban set Scrappy had some odd colour choices, like a black shirt with a blue collar. This one works for me, and can finally replace my broken-handed v1.
Storm Shadow is also superb. I don't get it, it looks like a straight repaint but the mold has detail showing like never before. Snake Eyes doesn't win me over, though. If you're going for a new head sculpt, why not base it on a later issue and give him the v2-esq visor? But I suppose you couldn't skip over issue 21.
The last pack even appeals to me. There's no way I'm using that Roadblock over v4, but I appreciate the head. Duke's definitely useful for a headswap if I manage a spare v1. Destro's the only one I'm not sure about. The studded collar is wicked, but otherwise it looks like a steel-coloured head, not a metal mask. And he looks upset.
These Comic 3-packs are still the best figures Hasbro's put out since the line ended, for someone who doesn't like the JvCs. It's good to know the line's been successful.
