I have a feeling THIS might have something to do with it.

From the GIJCC's Terms & Conditions page:
Quote
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
Fun Publications, Inc. realizes that collectibles have worldwide appeal. We ship anywhere that the United States Postal Service or FedEx delivers. However, there are restrictions. Upon your first order, you will need to fax us a copy of your credit card, front and back as well as photo identification, which shows your signature to 817-448-9843. If a credit card transaction is made through our site without the fax confirmation of your identity, we reserve the right to CANCEL THE ORDER.

This seemed blatantly wrong and stupid, and was the reason why I have hesitated to join.   Anyone with half a brain knows you're not supposed to fax or email your credit card info, as those transmission methods have always been considered NOT secure.

I was tempted to phone my credit card company to ask them about this, but I never got around to it.  I would think your CC company wouldn't side with you if you were scammed after being this careless with your card information.

I'm curious if the viper/crazylegs, etc. POC wave has been spotted in the wild yet, and if so at which retail outlets?  I've been keeping my eyes on a couple local Zellers, TRUs and Wal-Mart, and so far no go.

I've only seen Wave 5 (Blowtorch, cobra commander,  Hawk, etc.) + some odd repacks including Skydive and some other older POC figures from earlier waves.

(Plus I still have never seen Shadow Tracker or city-strike Destro, anywhere).

Has anyone else had better luck?

Alberta / New wave(s) spotted at Toys R Us
« on: August 30, 2011, 11:00:45 AM »
I was in a little bit of shock.  I don't recall the last time I saw new GI-Joe figures at a Toys R Us here in Edmonton.

Anyway, I was in the southside store yesterday and they had pegs full of whatever new wave(s) with the following:
Cobra trooper/soldier
Cobra Commander
General Hawk
Blowtorch
Steel Brigadier

When will Hasbro ever get a clue on how to pack cases.   There were a 'few' cobra troopers, which will be obvious army builders to some.  And yet the pegs had TONNES of Blowtorches, with Cobra Commander being the next prevalent.  Can we say "peg warmer"?

Well, I guess its just as well that I bought one on the bay then, because I'm no more likely to be able to make that Toronto convention either.

Now if only I could get a Dial-Tone and a Low-Light...    :'(

All Across Canada / Re: POC Low Light in Canada??

I still haven't found a Low-Light (or Shadow Tracker) in the wild here in Edmonton.

Does anyone have an extra one they could sell or trade for a reasonable amount?

Thx.

I just picked up a pink Zarana on ebay for $35.   Was that a decent price?

BTW, does anyone know what they were selling for originally at SDCC and at the Hasbro online shop?

Thx.

All Across Canada / POC Low Light in Canada??
« on: May 05, 2011, 10:45:58 AM »
I'm getting a little discouraged.   I have yet to see any evidence of Low Light and his accompanying wave (Shadow Tracker, etc.) hitting shelves here.    At least as far as the Edmonton area goes.

Have others in Canada been finding them?   If so, what store chains are carrying them?   I'm starting to worry if I'm going to completely miss that wave.

Thanks.

The Snake Eyes I got the other day was alright. I was surprised he came with detachable silencers for two of his guns plus 3 swords, two removable knifes, an Uzi, a sub machine gun, two hand guns, a spare head and a partridge in a pear tree.

Alright?  He's probably the best snake eyes figure to date.   He's awesome!

credit goes to one scalper from what I heard from very reliable sources who singlehandly hunt them all down at every Montreal Walmart stores, leaving nothing for those who would've had a fair chance

I'd like to hang guys like that by their scrotum.
