Montréal wins 4-0 against Tampa Bay
Now Montréal leads Boston 1 - 0
Believe...
-
Not the only Canadian team in the playoffs....
Let's go Raptors! I went to game 5, will go to game 7 if necessary!
-
GO Habs GO!
Sorry Pete, I have to cheer for them.
-
Me and my brother missed completely game 2 as we were in TO, visiting the Hockey Hall of Fame on that day. We did sport the Habs jersey on the Streets and received some very "warm" looks and "friendly" comments (sarcastically speaking of course). Our friends from Montréal were texting us the score as we were enjoying the walking around the city. If you must know, we did keep our jerseys on very proudly despite the fact that they lost game 2 to Bruins. The series is now 1-1, and we're back in Montréal, in time for game 3 on tuesday: GO Habs GO!
-
When Montreal plays against Toronto i wish they could both lose.
LETS GO RANGERS !

Pfffft!!
At least support one of the Canadian team :-)

Now Montréal leads Boston 2 - 1 Woohoo!!!!!

I hope everyone can agree that Boston s Brad Marchand is a very dirty player. Its beyond me how he gets away with his shit.

I hate him... and I'm happy that Montreal is still there 3 - 3. The last game will send the Bruins playing golf.... ;D
-
I don't like either the Habs or the Bruins. But at this point in time, I loathe the Bruins mostly because of Chara, Lucic, Marchand and Thornton and their jackass fans.
Why nobody has driven Marchand's head threw the glass or goal post is beyond me. I know I would have.
-
Agreed the Boston Bruins franchise is loaded with goons !
-
I'm a Canucks fan.
Because that's Rachel Nichols' team.

LOL! That is a way to pick a team!
-
I'm not that into NHL though.
'my team' before was Chicago. Because when I was a kid, the Bears were my NFL team when my Dad and I watched that, because of the Fridge. So, I decided to be 'a fan' (in the loosest possible sense of the term, I looked for their results and was happy if they won) of all the Chicago teams - Cubs, White Sox, Bulls, etc.

P.K. Subban is from Rexdale, Ontario ;) : GO "CH" GO (Club de hockey Canadien) !

Game 7 is tonight.... May the Best Team Win!

Marchand getting a penalty for snowjobing Carey price 3$
Chara scoring on his own net in the last minutes of game 7 priceless! !!!
Go habs go!

You made me laugh :-)
Montréal won the game 3 -1, and this round against Boston 4 - 3... so Montréal is going to the next round against New York Rangers.... Go Habs Go!!

Chara's goal off his skate into his own net is a well deserved justice in this case. Serves him right for what he did to Camalleri. He had it coming, using his big frame to shield Price's view or waiting to put in a garbage goal. He's so good at doing that, that he forgot yesterday night that he was hiding poor Rask's view, and his skate ultimately decided to switch teams.
Marchand is a poor class joker on skates. I like the fact that the Habs players chose to ignore this little guy. Bruins were really looking at pissing off the Habs to get an easy scoring opportunity or more powerplays in my opinion... didn't work the way that they would've wanted it.

Game 1 tonight....
Lets hope the Good Guys Win tonight!
-
Will there be another touchdown tonight for the NY Rangers? lol

Price is officially out for the rest of the Eastern Final conference, due to his injury caused by New York's Chris Kreider who rammed into the net with his skates on Price. Did you know this isn't his first time that he goes at goalie in this fashion? Fact. Rangers knew Price had to beaten in order to win the Series. Congratulations Rangers. just wasn't counting on the fact they'd beat him litteraly so to speak.
-
True, that wasn't fair play.
-
Rangers got a field goal in game 2 and it was enough for the win.
The built in excuse is if that the Habs lose (and I think they will), it was all because of the Price injury. The reality is, it doesn't matter who is in net for the Habs. Lundquist is playing on another level and is stoning the Habs. The Rangers had no business winning game 2.
Keider has done this twice now. The NHL won't be stupid going forward with this guy.

What built in excuse? Nobody from the Habs team is using Price's loss as an excuse for trailing in this series. Your sources must be flawed...or you must be a Habs hater. I'll go with Habs hater and that's fine by me: GO HABS GO! ;D .... 'til the end, no matter what.

He's from the Greater Toronto Area (or a Lesser Area near Toronto if you ask me). Of course he's a Habs hater!!!

@Jon S : Might I add "lesser fan from the Leafs Nation.'' ::)

@Jon S : Might I add "lesser fan from the Leafs Nation.'' ::)
Nope. Leafs fans are the most die-hard fans in all of hockey. To the point that I question their mental stability. Habs fans are rabid too (and not exactly great people - you lead the league in hockey riots by far) but they've got nothing on the lemming-like Leaf fans marching off the cliff year after year.

I wasn't generalizing either Jon. My comment was directed at Pete only, with some twisted humor in it, good ol' LJ style ( that still doesn't mean that I didn't mean some of it LOL). Fans always get carried away, taken. Also to think that the Habs fans are the only ones behind the riots in Montreal is an overstatement. Fans are not the only ones that have to do with this. You can say it's become somewhat of a festival gone horribly wrong in which other people also coming as far as other parts of the country take part in order to cash in on their looting. But yeah, the riots are a huge shame and the worst demonstration of fanatism to actual hockey sports fans like us.

Sorry, not "directed at Pete only", but "referring to what Pete had said" about the Habs fans generalized comment is what i actually meant to say.

I proud to say that the vast majority of the Vancouver hockey rioters are locals and we have very good ethnic and gender representation!
A lot of old time Habs fans out West though. My old man (65yo+) says back in the day you either picked the Habs or one of the American teams. Never the Leafs. Never EVER the Leafs.
The number of Canucks fans grows every year as they remain half-decent but I'm a Rockies/Devils fan since the 'Nucks always were getting pasted by the Oilers and Flames for so many years. Go Habs since the Rangers are the Devil's most hated rivals!

Man. Habs won this game tonight, and our new goaltender kid had much to do with it. It does matter who is in the net afterall Pete. Even your hero Mr. Don Cherry, who doesn't hold back on badmouthing the Habs, compared Tokarski to a possible....little Ken Dryden. Congrats Habs for staying in the game tonight, and congrats to Tokarski on his first well deserved win in the playoffs, and perhaps more victories to come in this series. And go last Canadian team go Pete 8).

Hold on. I don't care for Don Cherry and the rhetoric that comes out of his mouth.
Sorry, the Habs are on life support. Don't see the Rangers losing three in a row.

COOL we get to hear the excususe " Well if we would have had Price things would be different " for six months. Come on! Montreal crashes Lunquist just as good as they get. They just unfortunatly got thr shitty end of the stick in this occurence. Further more i dont blame Price one bit for faking and making a slight injury seem a lot, lot worse, If i was Price i would want to get as far, far away from the montreal canadians as i could because i know they are gonna blow the series.
Cudos to Price, only smart Montreal player there is. He gets outta the way early so his name is not attached to the major lose they are about to suffer
-
Oh ya did i mention i wasn io whe a Rangers fan? Think i did a few a postes ago when i said " lets go Rangers "
3 to 1 series lead .. how you gonna get outta did Martin ? LOL
-

Must give you that Pete. I don't see Rangers losing at this point. The series end looks like it's been decided. I see the Habs beeing able to win at least one more game if they can, but to be Lucky to win three in a row, considering that luck has been in shortage against a team that doesn't primarily rely on luck or need to believe in miracles, that will be near improbable.
And 3400, that was my initial reaction about losing Price and it did not stick long with me. Although game 4 was very hard to watch, I will be the one to admit that the Rangers deserved the victory dance because they kept their gameplay consistent throughout the series.
I don't think Price would fake such an injury to miss such an important series. It just doesn't make sense to me. We fans think sometimes we can think what the players are thinking, but that is not the case, so I won't counterpoint in that direction, nor feed my initial comment about Rangers knowing how to win by defeating Price, because we will never know that actually, so that settles it.
As for Tokarski, my opinion doesn't change of him. He's able to put a good fight and that interests me more at this point. There's team Habs and there's team Tokarski: GO HABS GO, GO Tokarski GO! And Let's go Rangers since they've got my respect as well.
On a concluding note, I do have a bad feeling however that whoever emerges victorious will have a much harder time against the western conference teams. I've seen their games, and they're at a much incredible pace.

There is always hope when you are in playoffs... assuming your team is in the playoffs :-) "My" team is still there and the next game is here in Montreal. Everything is possible!!
On game 7 against the Bruins, the game was held in Boston. The Canadiens sold out all their tickets. The Bell Centre was full... and no players were on the ice in Montreal. 21,000 fans paid $10 to see their team on the screen. How many hockey team can do this?
-
There is no way Price is faking an injury. What would be the point of that? This guy gets injured quite a bit
If you want to look for a reason why the Habs are in this position, look at the power play. The Rangers have shut it down.

ahem. Did you forget the CFL. You do have a team in Montreal named after a bird.

Ahem....
American Football = sport played with the ball in the hands.
Football (real name of what is known as soccer) = sport played mainly with the foot, and never with the hands.
CFL is still essentially American Football sport, doesn't matter who plays it, it's still an "American" sport.

Ahaha, Agree with the Greek, I do.
Aside of that, there's not much Joe to talk about here lately, so I'm kind of glad that we can keep any thread going at this rate, and see Pete post more often thanks to the potential Habs bait : YO-O-O.......HABS-GO!!!

Listen here, troll, if anyone here's gonna start up trouble it's gonna be me.
We've got fans of a disappointing team on the verge of elimination taking flak from a fan of a perpetually losing franchise in an online slap fight. I wanna watch!!!

Well theres no point in arguing anymore. The Rangers put the Canadians to bed. Its over folks. You know who im happy for...? The kids that get to shine the Montreal Canadians golf clubs. We should all be very happy for them. Sure the Montreal Canadians are OUT, GONE , DONE for this seasone, but @ least some kid somewhere gets to make 83$ this summer shinning clubs. LOL ;D
-
That's right.... they lost 1-0... snif... At least, it was fun to keep the hope alive!

I assume people are not rioting in Montreal over this devastating series loss. ;)
Hey, Subban, we got a Leafs jersey ready for you if decided to bolt the Habs.

I wouldn't call it "devastating". Devastating is more fitting for a team that hasn't won anything in this Series, or that had nothing to win at all because it was absent from the series, won't you agree :D ? So what if the Habs lost? There will always be a next time, and that's the best part, because our team always manages to impress us Habs fans, and even their rivals sometimes ( or even to infuriate the Bad Habs Fans, I'll admit that - but I prefer to igore their ignorant comments or backlashing on their own players). Remind me to let you know when your team knows a devastating season and is nowhere to be seen in the playoffs so that I may remind you the true power of the word "devastating" LOL.
