Title: My first chip proof customs! Desert team!
Post by: martin-montreal on November 09, 2011, 08:48:13 PM
My favourite: Rock and Roll

Side by side comparison:

My second favourite: Stalker (now I just need to remove that red cross!)

Stalker family picture (from original to custom):

My third favourite: Repeater (very easy, but very effective)

And the last one... sorry Grunt, you look like you were made from leftovers...  ???

What else to say....  ::)

Very cool idea, bet they'll look good in a VAMP mk II or Mauler!
Are you going to remove the red cross on Stalker or cover it up with a badge (like with a Sgt. rank sticker)?

Great minds think alike  ;)

Good question. I don't know yet. I was maybe more planning rubbing it with alcohol or something...

Goof Off should get it off. I just removed a Cobra logo off a 25th anniversary figure on the weekend. I did it outside with "Goof Off 2" which is a spray cleaner, cleaning sponge and paper towels.

They look awesome!
Love Grunt and Rock n Roll. Stalker is cool, but something a little plain...maybe I'm used to camo. Repeater seems the ood man out as the only non-original. Maybe you could add a fifth? Even just throw in Doc and Dusty, as is, when you display them!

I also really like your Grunt but I think th arms look a bit off. He needs short selves with bare forearms, like Recondo has. At lest that is just my opinion.

I also think that something is off with Grunt... but can't put my finger on it!

What I like on him is we get green highlights everywhere (on arms, belt and chest belt) like all these parts were supposed to be put together. Also, I tried to do like Recondo: Pattern on legs with plain chest... but I think Duke's chest is too well known to be re-use...  :( I used long sleeves like Duke had long sleeves.

I think the main problem with Grunt... is his ugly face  ::)   I will try giving him a visor on his helmet!  ;D

Isn't the UK Jammer (no camo) really expensive and rare!  ;)

Can we see a new shot - the pic has your old Repeater and I'm sure you have other updates.
Interesting that you made your own Tan Grunt but used Tan Clutch as is.
If you want to expand:
How about a Spearhead and Max?
Perhaps one of the females?
How about someone on Communications?

Like it!

the only thing i don't like is the chunky bandoleers on Rock'n'Roll to cover up the red cross. you should've used the Doc chest and arms together with Stalker's head and 'cast' him as a new medic guy.

Oh... that's just an old picture. In that picture I have the good old Tan Clutch and Tan Grunt. My last four additions are not there like my Tan Ram (Ross exclusive) and Light Tan Vamp Mark II (Cdn exclusive)...  ;D

They look like a great sub group... I'm just missing the Mauler... but space is now rare...  :(

You are totally right! thanks!

How about someone on Communications?

I'm already working on it... Full Tan Grunt body + Breaker head to make a Tan Breaker...!  ;D

Like it!

Many thanks!!

Yeah, but my goal was to get a Stalker as close to the original... but in Tan colour... like Hasbro did for Tan Clutch and Tan Grunt. But, to respect as much Stalker, I should give him a little brown camo... I now have a fully posable, chip proof fig!

As for R&R, those ammo belts are my pride! This fig will stay in my collection no matter what. I didn't want to hide the cross, as I will, somehow one day, remove it any way... like on Stalker arms.

Just picked up UK Steeler - hasn't arrived yet. Can't wait!
Where did the NF Ace come from?

From the original UK I have: Steeler, Jammer, Red Laser and two different SNAKE escape armour. I love all those! About Gaucho, I prefered the Convention exclusive instead of the original.

Where did the NF Ace come from?

Not really a NF... more in my head!

http://www.yojoe.com/action/98/ace5.shtml

... I got him from Hal, few years ago (free ad for Hal!).

No... sorry for the confusion, because of Grunt ( ;) ) the topic has switch... I just showed my collection by colour. However, you can see these some customs: Blue Hydrofoil (bought on eBay... can't remember the seller), White, Camo Grey, Black, Crimson troopers (from the Black Major).

I will update my pictures and post them in the right section.
