I found this on CNN, I could not resist since they have mentioned so many people to play this role:

(Entertainment Weekly) -- Marvel Studios' search continues for the perfect actor to don the red, white, and blue suit and spread American ideals in the big-screen adaptation of "Captain America."

Today's rumor mill throws "G.I. Joe's" Channing Tatum into a mix of 20-something-year-olds that include the known, Ryan Phillippe, "Fantastic Four's" Chris Evans; the semi-known, "Tron's" Garrett Hedlund (UPDATE: We're now hearing that Garrett is no longer in the running), "Cloverfield's" Mike Vogel, "Gossip Girl's" Sebastian Stan; and the unknown, "Young and the Restless's" Wilson Bethel.

The studio held lengthy screen tests last weekend for at least four of those actors (Hedlund has not yet screen-tested, though sources believe he is the studio's first choice), and Marvel is expected to have a decision soon.

In the meantime, we've got a few plot details to share.

Sources tell EW that "Captain America," which is set to begin filming in June for a release next summer, will be shot on location in London as the Joe Johnston-helmed movie will feature a stylized 1940's WWII backdrop. And while Cap won't be fighting Hitler as he did in the very first Captain America comic book, he will battle Red Skull, Hitler's right-hand man.

Probably the biggest challenge with Marvel's casting challenge is not the "Captain America" movie, but what comes next.

Marvel's plans include an "Avengers" film that will bow in summer 2012. And anyone familiar with Marvel lore knows that Captain America is a father figure to the rest of the Avengers. That means Marvel's casting choice for Cap must be someone who can go toe-to-toe with the likes of Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man, Samuel Jackson's Nick Fury, and Chris Hemsworth's Thor, to name a few. "They're casting two franchises here," said a source close to the production. "This is no easy feat."

Off Topic / Conan Movie remake reunites GI Joe actors
« on: March 16, 2010, 02:28:10 PM »
I was searching the web and found this interesting news bite on MTV.com

'G.I. Joe' Actor Joins 'Conan' Cast

With principle photography of director Marcus Nispel's "Conan" reboot scheduled to being in Europe later this month, the film has begun to shore up its remaining cast members. Earlier this week, Ron Perlman was confirmed to play Conan's father, Corin. And now, actor Said Taghmaoui has also signed on to appear in "Conan."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Taghmaoui will portray a "leader of thieves" who is saved by Jason Momoa's Conan and later becomes his ally. Taghmaoui will also reunite with his "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" co-star Rachel Nichols, who is playing the female lead, Tamara.

Taghmaoui has previously appeared in "The Kite Runner", "Vantage Point" and the BBC miniseries "House of Saddam." He also had a brief stint on "Lost."
The report also offers new details about Stephen Lang's character Khalar Singh , who is said to be "a ruler in search of a queen whose blood will bring life to the demonic minions of a long-lost god."

"Conan" was originally created by Robert E. Howard in the '30s as the star of a series of adventure novels. Momoa has recently mentioned that his Conan will be more influenced by Howard's version than the previous "Conan" movies starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"Conan" is scheduled to invade theaters in 2011.

The \'Show\' Room / My GI Joe collection
« on: March 16, 2010, 11:02:55 AM »
My Joes are still in there package as I'm still in a never ending basement renovation project and do not want them to be covered in dust.  Please excuse my unfinished walls in the photos as the background.

My Collection is basicly ROC, I'm on the fence on collecting older GI Joe.

I did not start collecting Joes until I saw the movie in August and thought this would be a perfect hobby for my son and I.  Since my son is only 18 months old, I will have to enjoy this hobby myself until he is old enough to help (that is what I told my wife) ;D  So hense this topic, I never seen so many variants with this line of toys.  This is normal with GI Joes figures?  My Star Wars figures only had 2 or 3 variants so it was easy to find.  But with ROC, I see more variants reported on the Internet all the time.  I understand that some figures have a production change, but so many?

These are the some variants that are available so far:
Cobra Commander (with tubes on Chest- did any one find this at all?)
Cobra Commander (with holes in Chest)
Cobra Commander (with holes filled in)
Rex the Doctor (White coat)
Rex the Doctor (Black coat)
Snake Eyes Paris Pursuit (Grey Timber)
Snake Eyes Paris Pursuit (Black Timber)
Storm Shadow Arctic Theat (No Mask)
Storm Shadow Arctic Theat (with Mask)
GI Joe Pit Commando (Holding Shield) Not a true variant, once opened
GI Joe Pit Commando (Holding Gun)
Cobra Gun Ship (with Red Helmet)
Cobra Gun Ship (with Black Helmet)

These are the Rumors of possible variants:
Cobra Gun Ship (with Blue Helmet)
Ice Viper (with Black Stripe on Visor)
Baroness Attack on GI Joe Pit (No logo)
Rex the Doctor (no Claws)
And many more…

General Joe Talk / Why is Walmart not restocking GI Joes ?
« on: March 10, 2010, 03:01:04 PM »
Hello All,
I was at 3 different Walmart Supercenters today and they have not added any new stock in months.  Since they raised the price on the figures from $5 to $9.44 they have not brought in any new stock.  I noticed this in around 8 to 9 stores in the Toronto East side area, and was wondering if anyone else has noticed this as well in their stores?  Since some of you guys are getting the info about Zellers in advance, I was hoping someone had any news about Walmarts?

Introductions / Hello All
« on: March 08, 2010, 10:40:05 PM »
My name is Bill and I'm glad to have found this site.  While searching google for other GI Joe fan sites, I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw this site and I had to join right away.  I love searching store to store looking for GI Joes.  My co-workers think I'm crazy going out on my lunch hour everyday searching for figures and deals.  That is where I get my tag line, "It's all about the hunt". Plus it gives me a reason to hit a Tim Hortons and get a coffee ;D,  I focus my searches in Scarborough and Markham and I hope to help out my fellow collectors by posting my findings.

Ontario / Collection 2: Wave 4 (aka Wave 5) seen at a TRU in Markham
« on: March 03, 2010, 09:15:02 PM »
I was at Markville Mall today and saw the following figures at the TRU store:

?“Desert Battle” Desert-Viper — (UPC #: 65356944825)  x2
?“City Strike” Duke — (UPC #: 65356944824)  x3
?“Jungle Assault” Ripcord — (UPC #: 65356944826)   x3
?“Arctic Threat” Storm Shadow — (UPC #: 65356944827)  x1

There were also other hard to find figures:

?Nano-Viper — (UPC #: 65356944701)  x1
?Red Fang Ninja — (UPC #: 65356944699)  x1

If you need these figures grab them quick.  At 9.99 CAD it is better value then the $15 US plus shipping that I paid to get these figures from the US.
