Title: GIJCC Figure Subscription service
Post by: morgardee on August 10, 2012, 04:31:26 PM
Bottom line is it's about to go live and will cost you $294 (plus $3 for each billing period) before shipping.

The shipping rates have gotten better.

Cut off date is Sept 4th.

The cynic in me is wondering if they decided to announce the FSS now (aside from the genuine delays that prevented it from being launched much earlier this year) to draw some attention away from the CJC.  :-\

I don't think so. They've been trying to get it going for a while. Last week the store was suppose to open again but it failed. It opened on Monday and is running smooth. The entire time they were saying that as soon as the store went live they would try to get the FSS running right away.

GIJCC finally got their web pages working.

The base cost for a set of figures is $294.

The cheapest shipping option is "Post Office Priority Mail International"

Each one of those has insurance as an add on option. From what I understand the insurance is a one time fee.

So using the cheapest option here's the math:

1 order = $60 (+ 21 insurance) = $81 per unit
2 orders = $101 (+ 30 ins) = $54.50 per unit.
3 orders = $222 (+ 34.50 ins) = $ 85.5 per unit
4 orders = $252 (+ 39.00 ins) = $72.75 per unit
5 orders = $283 (+ 43.50 ins) = $53.5 per unit
6 orders = $313.80 (+ 48 ins) = 60.30 per unit
7 orders = $344.40 (+ 52.50 ins) = $56.64 per unit
8 orders = $375 (+ 57 ins) = $53.25 per unit.

My math might be off somewhere but this will give you the basic idea of costs.

I stopped after 8.

So if you got one set it would cost you $294 plus $3 fee plus shipping $81 = $378 (USD)

That's $31.50 per figure with the 13th figure being free or $29.08 for all 13 figures.

Does anyone plan on getting the Figure subscription services?

Not me.
None of the figure wowed me. I found them pretty boring so even at retail, I'd pass most of them.

I went with 1 set also, I didnt get insurance...I regret not getting it now, as the club has been known to fudge orders time to time...I guess if worst comes to worst I can charge back.

The orders will not be finalized until Sept 4.  I'm sure you can get them to add it now.

Anyone ever thought to make a group order?

My only concern with a group orders if the value gets to high we will get hit with Customs Charges as well.

It's pretty expensive but i want some of these figures and paying Ebay price for a few will cost me more than the full subscription.  Yes, i will probably get the subscription.  Just too bad they won't ship all figures in one shipment.

I'm in for 1 sub.  I really like some of the figures, such as Big Boa, Cover Girl, Dice, Jinx and Topson.  Some others were "nice to haves", including TNT and Quarrel.

Got my order in today. 2 sets and the shipping came to $7.45. for 4 figures. Paid a total of $109 in shipping for 2 sets.

$7.45 x 6 = $44.70.

I'm going to keep all the paper work and see how this all turns out but if they've charged me more then double for shipping then I will NOT be impressed.

And for the record, Jinx's neck is way to long. Dice looks good.

Hey Morgardee,

Can you clarify for me.  I don't understand the math.  What did you pay?  Was it $109 for 2 sets with shipping?  Was it $7.45 per figure for shipping?

Sorry I don't understand what your saying here?  $7.45 x 6 = $44.70?  6 what?

Thanks man.

Morgardee paid $109 for the shipping of 26 figures (Two sets of twelve figures plus two bonus figures).
This averages out to $4.19 for shipping on each figure.

On the first shipment the club paid $7.45 for the shipment of four figures.
This averages out to $1.86 for the shipping of each figure.

If this trend continues (shipping rates and packaging and materials staying constant for the next six months) the club will pay an estimated total of $48.43 to ship morgardee his figures. This means the club will have charged morgardee a total of $60.58 in handling charges, which most people would deem a rip off.

Thanks, I was lost on what the numbers were referring to.  Glad to hear the shipping is really reasonable, finally, too bad they still find a way to rip off international members for shipping/handling.
