Sorry if this has been noted already, but I found some Wave 5 2008 (Canadian Cards) at Kitchener Toys'R'Us this morning. It looked like two cases worth.
I believe this wave is new to Toys'R'Us.
-
Same thing at the Whitby TRU. However all the Bats and Snow Serpents were gone.
-
Yep, saw this at TRU today. Grabbed the Bat and Snow serpent, as the had just been put out
-
After reading about Ed's luck, I figured I would check out a Toronto TRU on the way home from work. Found two complete sets of wave 5 at a east end Toronto TRU. The Bats and Snow Serpents are now gone.
-
My local TRU re-stocked yesterday with 5 cases of this wave ('08 wave 5 or 25th wave 9). It's not everyday you get to see 5 pegs pull of Joes including 5 B.A.T. and 5 Snow Serpent figures. I suspect most of the other TRUs will follow suit for the X-mas season.
Unfortunately, there are way too many Wild Bills, Torpedos, Bazookas and Barbecues on the pegs. I hope they will sell to ensure future single pack waves.
-
TRU has been doing a great job of supporting G.I. Joe and getting product on the shelf but the $9.99 price tag on singles really bugs me. I just can't bring myself to pay that much.
-
True, the 9.99 is high due in comparison to Wal-mart and Zellers prices, but least you know TRU will have some single pack figures. When I check out a few Wal-Marts in my area, they are always unpredictable in terms of what product is left. One has no single packs, another one has 5 Wild Bills, another one has a couple wave 1 vehicles and some wave 4 figures. At least TRU will have something, mostly due to the high price. I guess that is the tradeoff.
-

You're not kidding! :) I've bought 4 Wild Bills in the last week just to get them off the shelf and they still keep appearing. I think someone tried hiding them all to get more ordered and staff is slowly finding them and putting them back.
-
Toys'R'Us Kitchener had a restock as well. Looked like 5 cases of Wave 5 2008, minus the BATs and a few Snow Serpents.
-
I still think the BAT's will show up in a TRU 5 pack for $19.99. I'm out of the BAT army building game for now. I have 2 and that's it.

It looks like two other TRUs in my area were re-stocked earlier this week (Vic Park location and Pickerking). Bats and Snow Serpents are all gone, which is a good thing as these figures are plastic crack to me.
-
Plastic crack is an understatement.
I am no army building them, I don't need any more, but if I am in a store that is the first thing I bee line for - and if they have them I end up buying them.
-
Same here. I don't know what it is about them :(
we should hold a group intervention or something.
-

Same thing with me. It's so hard to fight off that army building urge. And Ed can back me up on this: I wasn't a huge fan of the 25th B.A.T. to begin with. Even the Snow Serpent legs (back of the knees) was a huge turn off. Some how I have warmed up to both.
At least we don't have to go to Buffablow to find them. The horror of that dump.
Maybe we do need a group intervention? :shifty:
-
Last time I was in Buffalo I swear I smelled the same rotten smell that was hanging in the air last time you and I went over. That city has not change in 20 years.
-
Toys'R'Us Kitchener put out a couple more cases of Wave 5 2008 yesterday. The B.A.T.s were still there as of about an hour ago. The pegs are overflowing with this wave. There must be about 50 figures there.
