Hey thanks. I have been out of collecting for a couple years but lately been enjoying going through my stuff. It's nice to come back and see everyone still here.

I just meant in general, really. What one Earth were they doing with unwanted SF figures, I wonder. Thanks for the answers. I dunno why but this sort of stuff just fascinates me (and makes me extremely jealous).

Nice, thanks. I had guessed that Detonator was Nitro Viper but wondered if it was maybe a typo for Interrogator. Interesting they would unload SF figures. Cool! Did these guys come with their real weapons?

I think I would have ordered the whole lot a few times over if I had lived in Canada, those prices are crazy.

General Joe Talk / 1994 Premium Offers from Hasbro Canada

Hey guys. After spotting an insert in JoeNorth's post of a SF movie figure on YoJoe, I was curious about the offer and found the insert in the archives. It's a really amazing little piece of Joe history I never knew about but it raises a lot of questions to me that I am hoping someone here remembers the answers to. Did any of you guys get lucky enough to partake in the warehouse clearance sale?

Also, if you did can you answer some questions?

a) who are Villain, Superhero and Detonator

b) did the figures come loose, bagged, bubbled, with or without filecards (and were they bilingual if they did?)

c) was the APC the later era "cuda" or an original style?

I am also interested if any of you have some of these packaged MIB or filecards that are not in YJ. I don't work there or anything but I love this stuff and would love to see some Canadian variants on there (there are huge gaps in that part of the site).

If you don't know what I am talking about, check out this insert and weep: http://www.yojoe.com/international/canada/images/2premier2.jpg

All Across Canada / Re: Rise of Cobra Sales week of Nov 27th - Dec 3rd

phew, right in under the wire with my receipt, I think it would have expired in a day or two to get the refund.

Got four Serpent Armors and the SS w/bike I passed on and a Pit Commando (sorry pdaat!)

At Highbury Z in London they had unpacked what appeared to be at least eight cases of Target packs, so I even left several SNAKE/Serpents for y'all. At 15 bucks, well, I can justify a minor army build or to stock up on nice trade material.

But Sheesh, I have never seen a Zellers so busy as today in my life. It looks like a lot of Canadians stayed in London to shop today!

I will be glad to get a Pit for $50, I waited patiently and got my Raven for $30, though I bet I could have held out longer.

Hopefully Zellers has restocked the Joes for the big sale. Gonna have to check it out.

General Joe Talk / Re: Target Exclusive Past & Present set is out...

Got mine today. Pretty nice I guess. The ARAH stuff is all I care about, though it's nice I hadn't already bought the Alpha version of the snowmobile.

An error on the box art has Frostbite riding the Polar Battle Bear. Kinda odd.

Anyway the quality of the ARAH figure is as good or better than the comic-pack and TRU exclusive stuff from earlier this decade. Snow Job comes with all his equipment and is a nice remake of an often-discolored figure.

I keep waiting. The real way to make sure they show up at Canadian retail would be to import them with markup and duty from the States on ebay or forums. That seems to bring in the exclusives every time. :(

General Joe Talk / Re: Amazon Resolute Comic
« on: November 24, 2009, 11:59:22 PM »
I dunno, I guess I am just really unsure when continuities overlap with no reason. It's never occurred to me that Resolute could be a place where multiple universes overlap. Even as a little kid I'd have never had any off-scale figures playing with my Joes, not even correct scale figures from other lines were kosher with me. So that's probably coloring my thinking about this. Iron Klaw is a cool toy, but not canon GI Joe to me, and definitely not from the same universe as the CG in my mind. If there was some explanation about the Resolut-o-verse being some kind of Crisis on Infinite Earths situation, then fine, but just jumping in with a IK lookalike, I dunno, made me confused.

If I'd gotten this with a toy in printed form I'd be more likely to have "got" the point. Without a toy in the right scale, I just don't click with IK or similar in ARAH/Resolute.

What the heck does that have to do with Resolute? Hasbro's being weird again or what? Did they just dig up something old and unused and slap the word Resolute on it?

mini-Hijack: any more reports of this wave in Canada? One guy on here said he found this wave at Wal-mart but it seems a bit fishy at this time...any ideas. Also, where are the darn Battle Stations?! Wal-mart better get their act together and quick.
