-
that is excellent. love it.
-
Maybe i'm the only one but back in '87 I was a huge fan of the BF2000 figures. I just finished a custom Dodger and I wanted to complete the roster with the rest of the team.
so here's from left to right
Blocker, Blaster, Deejay, Maverick, Knockdown (as a woman) and Avalanche.
With major modifications to come.

I like how Dodger turned out and the helmet too. Well done sir. Can't wait to see the rest, especially Blocker and Maverick. The rest will surely surprise me as always :D

Is that a star wars face mask on Blaster?

Finally received the custom head to finish this guy
(http://www.buvezentous.com/ian/darklon-final.jpg)

Ever since I started customizing what motivates me is "childhood projects". I always wanted a double seated HISS tank, i did one, SW and Joes are part of my life for so long that I tried to do crossovers and it turned pretty good, I think, after that I updated the BF2000.
Now this is not Joes or SW but it's a long time favorite of mine. Captain Future (Capitaine Flam in French) was a cartoon from the late 70s. So I finally finished this project... maybe I'll do the rest of the team ;-)
-
I don't know him, but that's spot-on!
-
Very coool! I'm curious to see the others now, especially Krag.
-
My version of Lt. Falcon, inspired by everybody ;-)
Torso, head and lower arms: Falcon marauder 7 packs
Lower torso: Duke ROC v33
Upper arms : Sgt Stone
Legs : 30th SteelBrigade
-
I like that LT. Falcon. The paint apps look great.
-
Great job on these customs!
-
Simple custom, of Muskrat v1. I used the same parts that the used for Muskrat Night Force convention except the head/hat

When i was young, there was a anime TV show called Goldorak (Grendizer).
Here's Grendizer's pilot, Actarus aka Duke Fleed aka Daisuke Umon
both in pilot costume and civil

I like Dodgere's helmet and chest plate...what did you use from witch figures to make those 2 things...?
Or am i making an industry taboo by asking.? ...LOL ;D
-
Helmet comes from http://www.raginspoon.com/racket-helmet.html (http://www.raginspoon.com/racket-helmet.html)
the body is from this figure http://www.yojoe.com/action/11/irongrenadier8.shtml (http://www.yojoe.com/action/11/irongrenadier8.shtml)
-
Cool man thanks.
I actually have that Iron greneder that the cest plate comes from, but as i do not open my mosc stuff, i would never have known it was under his armour.
A few days ago i was actually thinkin bout those greneders, because i watched an episode of '' sons of guns '' you know that red jacket rifle customizing store on Discovery chanel.
Anyway, they had made a gun and backpat combo that one man could carry with him, and it replased a 3 man gun team the weapon need before. Plus the backpack looks way more cool.
Kinda got me thinkin id like to have a squade gun/ 400 round 50 cal back pack totin cobra troopers....?
::) KINDA ::)
P.S I super want em. ;D LOL
-
Your BF2000 looks awesome. Love your Muskrat too. How did you do the machete sheath?

RAPTOR...Maybe not the most popular character in the Joe/Cobra universe, but as a kid i always liked the sculpting and details of this figure.
I tried to give him an updated feel with some kind of wing implants... why not it's my universe right ? ;-)
Headgear: ARAH Raptor
Head, wings, lower arms: Avengers Sky Attack Falcon
Torso: MU Sub-Mariner/Namor
legs : Resolute Roadblock

head : Specialist Trakker
body : Resolute Flint
Armor : ROC Flash

Back in January i made a Annihilator based on the club 2012 version. So I decided to make another one but with more standard IG colors
Here's the Annihilator Commander
What do you think?
-
Super Trooper looks amazing. He looks way more realistic with the muted chrome. Next to your Hiss, that's my favourite.
The Annihilator colours look good. Reminds me of Strato Viper.
-
Thanks man
-
How'd you do the necklace? I'd like to do a raptor and crystal ball one of these days :)

shaved the necklace from the vintage figure
-
Wow, I'm impressed !
-
Very simple to do but i really Like the result
-
Cutting something that small doesn't sound easy at all. :)
-
I used one of these http://www.homedepot.ca/wcsstore/HomeDepotCanada/images/catalog/11-515A_rgb_4.jpg (http://www.homedepot.ca/wcsstore/HomeDepotCanada/images/catalog/11-515A_rgb_4.jpg)
watch out, i've cut my finger it's a really sharp blade
-
I've sliced myself with the exacto a few times. The worse was kind of a weird accident, somehow I managed to step on the pointy end of an exacto blade barefoot!
-
ouch

Here's Budo, hope you like it

-
Didn't think you could top your HISS tank...amazing.
Just spectacular.
bet it looks awesome when manned by a crew.
had you considered painting the turret gun 'blast shield' to match?
-
Not sure, I don't want it to be too much
-
As I said on the other forums, this is awesome!
-
thanks

That Anaconda is spectacular. Really nice job.

Serpentor :: Cult of the Cobra

When I start a new custom, I like to have a "project". I did the SW/Joe cross overs, BF2000, lately i did the Village People force. This time I wanted to revisit the original 13 team members.

you're right, I should also fix Rock N roll & Stalker's hair since they were not long in 1982

It's been a very long time since I posted a new custom... no inspiration and really busy.
But, here's Vandoos
The Royal 22nd Regiment, in French and officially (in both French and English usage) Royal 22e R?giment and colloquially The VanDoos (an anglicized pronunciation of the word twenty-two, vingt-deux, "22" in French), is an infantry regiment of the Canadian Army. The mostly francophone regiment comprises three Regular Force battalions, two Primary Reserve battalions, and a band, making it the largest regiment in the Canadian Army and the largest francophone regiment in America.

Crystal Ball, weird character and kind of useless, I never really used him when i was a kid. With this "not-that-popular"character, I wanted to keep the gypsy background. I tried to give him a less gimmick-feel by dropping the shield, I'll let you see what I replace it with.
-
This looks pretty good. Although I'm not a huge fan of the red eyes. I like him better then the original.
Nice work.
-
Not very active lately and life is moving so fast, but managed to find inspiration to create my own version of Fast Draw. He wasn't one of my favorite as a kid, but I think it turned out pretty good, what do you think?

-
After Fast Draw, here's the last of the carded figure of '87. Sneek Peak was probably the only carded figures from that year that i never played with, he had this huge green periscope tower that was kind of silly carrying around. I tried here to give him a more "mobile" gear with the helmet cam and the drone. The colors are much darker, that light grey and bright red didn't really worked IMAO
your thoughts and feelings on this?

-
Some really nice customs here. Nice paint apps. I like your "updates" on the characters that don't have the existing parts to make them look like their original ARAH figures. I have trouble reimagining a lot of the figures, so this gives me inspiration to take those characters in a little different direction.
-
As an after thought, your sneek peak makes a lot more sense in todays world than his 80's counterpart and the old tech he had. I understand your colour scheme but would have liked it to be closer to his original colours, just to make the connection so when you look at him you know its sneek peak. The gear is perfect.
-
i like your do-over with Sneak-Peek as a drone operator.
-
As a young Canadian born in the 70s, GI Joe was the only toy that I played with for many years. Funny thing, we had Canadian versions of the file cards "adapted" to have some characters born up North. For instance, on the Canadian file card, Grunt was born in Trois-Rivi?res, Quebec.
But, to my knowledge, Back-Stop is the only "official" Canadian born character.
Here's my version of that crazy canuck hockey player.

-
Looks good. What's the head from? I've been using the 2009 set back-stop, but i like this one better.
-
Thanks, it's Dusty POC
-
I think I'm gonna have to make me a back-stop. I don't have all the same parts but this sure has given me a lot of ideas. THX!
-
I wanted to do a Metal-Head custom for a long time, but couldn't find a head that fitted the character. So I tried to give a shot at sculpting the hair on a random duke head from ROC, I have so many of these ;-)
I tried to go stay true to the vintage figure, last week I found the gear and things fell into place.
So here's Metal-Head.

So realistic!!
-
looks great. I can only imagine that the whole get up must weigh like 200 lbs
-
it'd cripple him, I expect.
-
Back in 2012 when the Professor X came out, like many others I knew I wanted the body to make the suits version of Tomax and Xamot. So I had the bodies and the heads lying in my fodder bin for almost 3 years...
Finally here's the result. No big surprise. I know that a lot of people kept the body as is, all blue. The cartoon version had the grey pant with the yellow tie and a red flower and that's the way I did them
(http://www.buvezentous.com/ian/tomax-xamot.jpg)
-
In 1988 I turned 15 and I was more interested in girls than Joes. Still, I pretty much bought everything from that year... and the next four years :P
Lightfoot was never part of my missions and I found that beside the helmet he was pretty lame... and "yellow"!
I tried to stay close to the vintage version keeping the cool helmet, but switching to a one-hand sensor.
let me know what you think.

-
What can I say about this guy? Nothing much really. After 1987 I didn't play very much with my Joes, I guess I was preparing myself for my collector's life. That being said, this custom was really fun to do. Getting the correct webgear was kind of a challenge, but overall I think it came out great.
