Title: Trading Card Sponsors Needed (again)
Post by: BHMike on April 09, 2010, 09:10:18 AM
As you guys know, for the past 2 years we've had trading cards made for all past Canadian Joe Meet / Canadian G.I. Joe Convention figures and artwork.

Each card showcases the artwork for each figure (done by our own Jason Loo), or a photo image of the actual figure.

Last year we ran a contest here on the site for the newest batch of cards to be done. You guys voted, and now those cards are available to be printed.

The next batch of cards will be the following:
Chacal Noir (Art), Chacal Noir (Photo), Back-Stop (Photo), Frostback Trooper (Art), Frostback Trooper (Photo), Dead Eye (Photo), The H.A.T.E. (Photo), Checklist (not shown - not available to sponsor)

(http://http://www.joecanuck.com/files/11a.jpg) (http://http://www.joecanuck.com/files/12a.jpg) (http://http://www.joecanuck.com/files/14a.jpg) (http://http://www.joecanuck.com/files/15a.jpg) (http://http://www.joecanuck.com/files/16a.jpg)
(http://http://www.joecanuck.com/files/18a.jpg) (http://http://www.joecanuck.com/files/20a.jpg)

From those above, we need people to have at LEAST 4 sponsors or the cards won't get done.
There's also going to be a checklist card done, and if room available on the sheet, then a reprint of the Back-Stop art card since the one made is technically an error, listing him as a 2008 figure.

So, who can sponsor a card?

If you own a store, you're welcome to sponsor a card!
If you own a web site, you're welcome to sponsor a card!
If you want to "go in" on a card with some friends, you're welcome to sponsor a card!
If you want to "own" that card and have just your name on it, you're welcome to sponsor a card!

The only exception is that you can not co-sponsor a card together if you are a store or site (or both) example: No GeneralsJoes.com & YoJoe.com co-sponsorship, or no JoeArmory.com & JoeCustoms.com co-sponsorship).

The bottom line here is that without people/stores/site, etc sponsoring these cards, we won't be finishing off the set. (It's unsure if these will continue after this wave of cards at this time - so this may be your last chance).

Sponsorship is relatively cheap - and the more cards we order, the cheaper it gets. That's why I'd like to ensure we get all cards done and paid for at once so we can get a cheaper rate. That's why we need at least 4 sponsors for this wave of cards.

This is what the sponsored card would appear like on the back - with your logo, name etc.

Once all these cards are completed, they'll be added to the JoeCanuck trading card section at http://www.joecanuck.com/site/?q=node/8 (http://www.joecanuck.com/site/?q=node/8) . The backs of the cards (which is where your info will be) will also be shown.

You would also receive a hefty portion of the cards you sponsor to dispose of at your leisure if you'd like! We'll also send along a bunch of doubles from the other runs to include with any orders, trades or other items you mail out. You can also leave these at toy shows, conventions, and comic shops!

If you're interested, please send me a PM via the message board, or email me at contact@joecanuck.com for more information. I'd like to get these off to the printers in the next week or so, and the quicker you decide if you'd like to sponsor a card, the better chance you have of picking one!

While you're at it, post your comments on what you think of these newest cards!
Mike

Anyone that emails the email addy given (contact@joecanuck.com) will get an email reply from me on Monday when I email all interested parties. There's more people interested than I have cards for right now. Maybe it's time to re-print some earlier ones like Black Ice and JoeCanuck? ;-)

Everyone has been contacted and all the above cards are now spoken for.

Since the sponsor demand was higher than the amount of cards that were available, we'll be doing a 2nd run of some earlier cards like JoeCanuck and Black Ice - with altered backs to show the new sponsor for that card.

They'll be posted in the new Trading card section that will be done when they arrive.
I should have them next week.
