Items Wanted / 2010 Joe Con Red Shadows Bunker part swap
« on: November 30, 2011, 06:32:14 PM »
So last (American)  Thanksgiving, I finally got around to trying to put together my Red Shadows bunker from the Rhode Island Joe Con.
I say "trying" rather than "putting together" because after opening the still sealed bag, I found two left outer walls and no right outer wall (looking at it from the outside).

I wrote the club, but they have no parts for this set left. But I got to thinking, if I have two left walls, there *must* be someone out there with two right walls, right? I mean, these parts must be made in even numbers.

So, is there anyone reading this that has two right walls and wants to swap wall-for-wall?

Failing that, does anyone here have a Star Wars Power of the Force 2 Endor Attack Set Bunker right wall they'd be willing to sell me cheap? ;)

Let me know via PM if so.

U.S. & International / New skystriker already in North East Philadelphia
« on: August 31, 2011, 01:41:25 PM »
Right now, all the stores I frequent in the northeast philly area have the 30th anniversary Skystriker: Wal-Mart, TRU, and Target. Only Wal-Mart supercenters seem to be carrying G.i.Joe, though (and my local one is sold out of the Skystriker at this time, but they had them last week).
No figures (other than 12")  or mid-size vehicles have been spotted yet, though.

For Sale or Trade / Figures and vehicles for sale
« on: May 30, 2011, 02:11:56 PM »
Guys, I originally posted the items below only for trade, but I have found someone who has an item in my want list, and who doesn't need anything in my list. I have decided to try to sell these to come up with the money he is asking for th item I need. I will be at the convention, but will not have a table, and will probably only bring the items people let me know they want (not the whole list). I will also list the items below on eBay, unless someone here lets me know they want them. Make me an offer for what you want and we'll negotiate a price. As I sell stuff on eBay, I will remove it from the list. All items are sealed in card or box, or bag if they came bagged. I will not break up sets.

Cobra Rattler 4WD with Vipra (TRU exclusive)
Spy Troops Snow Cat with Frostbite
Agent Faces in CG outfit mail-in
2008 NYCC DDP America's Elite #34B (exclusive cover comic)
G.I.Joe Collector's Club Convention Swat three pack: Shockblast, Lowlight, Longarm.
HISS three with Rip-it
2006 G.i.Joe Collector's Convention Exclusive Sgt. Slaughter (signed!)
G.I.Joe vs Cobra Hiss IV in box, but the box is pretty beat up.
Valor vs Venom G.I.Joe Moray Hydrofoil (TRU exclusive)
G.I.Joe ROC Rhino (Target Exclusive)
G.I.Joe ROC Laser Artillery Weapon set (Walmart Exclusive)
Air Assault Glider with Capt. Ace (POC, cancelled Target Exclusive)

Customs / INTELLIGENCE: Indiana (warning, LOTS of pictures)
« on: May 11, 2011, 12:13:04 PM »
So a few years ago, I entered my first customs in the G.i.Joe Collectors Convention contest (I didn't win anything, in case you were wondering, LOL). It's been a while, but recently I took more and better pictures of them, and I thought I'd share them here.

The concept was simple. Besides being a HUGE Joe collector and fan, I'm also a HUGE Indiana Jones fan. Loving the 3 3/4" scale, it occured to me to imagine what the 3 3/4" Indiana Jones toys may have been like, had Hasbro had the Lucasfilm license in the 80s intead of Kenner. Moreover, I thought: What if Indiana Jones characters had been made a part of the G.i.Joe line? Don't misinterpret me, it's all just whimsy (I'm well aware of the time period difference between the 30s and 40s and the 80s), but I decided to make everything period: Indy would have the card back of the earlier Joe series. So I did the customs below, including the blisters (through computer program manipulation of scanned book covers and movie posters). This was long before the Hasbro 3 3/4" Indiana Jones figures were even conceived... years before IJ and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

For these being my first (and thus far only) customs, I was pretty pleased on how they came out. I made mistakes of course (even if you can't see them in the pics; for instance I put the paint on too thick and I can hardly move the joints without the paint chipping or cracking).

Anyway, here are the pictures. I hope you like them.

I'm looking for the 5th DVD pack, "Best of the 80s," and the cannon to the Thnderclap vehicle.
If you have the DVD pack and are willing to trade, please ask me for my list. I'll be happy to buy the Thunderclap cannon outright.

I'd also love a HATE tank set, but couldn't afford to buy one. If you'd be willing to trade for it, let me know.

Edit: I also need a 25th Anniversary STING RAIDER  with COPPERHEAD.

Introductions / Greetings one and all!
« on: May 03, 2011, 08:18:54 PM »
Hey guys,
Long time Joe collector from the USA here, first time attendee to the Canadian Joecon this coming July.
Been wanting to go to one for a while, since I always have a great time when I visit Canada (not to mention the HATE tank was SWEET!), but sadly I can only afford one convention a year. But this year is certainly your turn, Canada! :D
I look forward to meeting some Canadian Joe fans I have known online in the past (though I haven't been in touch for years).
Anyway, I figured I'd come in here an introduce myself. My online handle has been Rockhammer for years, and I currently live in Pennsylvania, in the Philadelphia area. Unlike most collectors, I have never stopped buying and collecting G.I.Joe since I bought my first figure (Torpedo, in case you're wondering). I kept buying them even through High School and the neon years. I guess I must be addicted, or something ;)

I look forward to meeting those of you who will be attending the convention this year.
