Dreadnok hideout?
« on: September 18, 2008, 08:46:58 AM »

I was looking at the new pre-order items at Toys R Us this morning for my son and I came across this:

http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=3266485&cp=3265813.3265815.3265815&parentPage=family

Does anyone know anything about this things and if it's Joe sized? I mean, we've got 4 inch figures, 8 inch figures and 12 inch figures. Someone has to fit inside that thing.

Mind you, at $159.99 I think I'd wait for it to go on sale.

wow that does look nice - Chapters has it for $149

17" L x 9" H

Going by the pic which is in isometric view, I'd guesstimate that it is a tad small for a 3 3/4" - 4" figure since a joe would roughly be less than half the height - and the height looks like it's being measured from the top of the roof to the ground.  So a Joe would stand just under the awning - or be as tall  as the top of the window on the side of the house.

what do you think?

Better dimensions on this site which looks to be more accurate

so at 11.8" high then it might be a good fit for a 4" joe!  egads almost 22 lbs!!!!

I have seen this at Educational Toy Stores and yes for the most part it is Joe Scale - the castle would make a great fortress for Destro. However the price tag is more than I would spend.

It might be a tight fit for ARAH style figures.
Schleish figures are shorter than Joes.

I'll admit it looks good.

Wow these are expensive, I didn't know that they were making toys out of plastic-plated gold.

$159.99 = ???  For that?  For a toy aimed at 3-6 year olds.  Come on.

I am sure these will sell like lead ballons.

You would be surprised what parents will spend on their kids. Aside from that, I could see pre-schools buying them.

Still, I agree $159.99 is about 3 times too much. If it were $49.99 then maybe.

I've meant to build a Dreadnok Hideout for the longest time, but never had the room.  One of these days, I'll build it and a slice of swamp for display.

That's a nice one, though.  Get a little gas pump out front and a box of chocolate donuts and you're golden.
