Ask Hasbro Your Questions!
« on: February 26, 2010, 09:52:44 AM »

It's that time again, time to ask Hasbro your questions!

Hasbro has dictated that things will go a little differently this time. We will send them 3 questions, and they will pick at least 1 of the 3 to answer. This is the same for all sites.

Of the questions submitted that they don't choose to answer, they will pick a number of them, answer them and send them to all sites.

Also, 48 hours after we get our questions back and posted, they will send all questions to all sites. So our answers will be "exclusive" for 48 hours, after which they will go to all sites.

So basically we get 1 of ours answered for sure, and possibly others of ours will be answered and sent to all sites.

This is in an effort to reduce the duplication of questions and ensure that good questions/important answers get to all sites.

***UPDATE***

Hasbro has sent along some "do ask" and "don't ask" guidelines in regards to the Q&A. They are as follows:

·  Topics open for discussion – Deco Decisions, Design Choices, Design Process/Development and Redeco/Retooling. Also, questions pertaining to past and current Lore/Storyline, Line Strategy and Marketing.

· Topics that cannot be addressed - “When will X toy be made/redesigned/released?”, Hypothetical, Sales/Cost Data, Product Idea Submissions, Potential Design/Redesign and Future Movie/Entertainment.

************

Please keep this in mind when submitting your questions.

Now that we have the technicalities out of the way, post your questions in this  thread! Questions will be taken until Friday the 5th at 1pm. At that time this thread will be locked and a voting thread will be created. Voting will run through the weekend and close at 10am Monday the 8th.

Let's get some answers!

Why are the actor likenesses being changed - image rights or fan outcry?

With the announcement that Larry Hama will continue his GIJoe run as of the FCBD 155.5, will we be looking more 25th Anniversary stuff or updated looks for the characters from that "era"?

As always, I'm not sure if these question will get direct answers or no so we'll have to choose the one that have a chance in being answered.

We were promised and received more store exclusives in Canada, but we did not get the Wal-Mart exlusive Battle Stations or any Toys R Us exclusives. How well did the exclusives that we did get perform?

At both last year's GIJoe Convention and this year's Toy Fair, the Pursuit of Cobra toys were showcased. However, many toys seen at the Joe convention were not found at Toy Fair nor announced in any way. What is the current situation with the following figures?
* Arctic Threat Ice Viper Elite
* Desert Battle Ripcord (in the flight suit)
* Jungle Assault Storm Shadow
* Jungle Assault Cobra Commander
* Arctic Threat Duke
* Desert Battle Ripcord
* City Strike Scarlett
* Training Gear Duke
* Shadow Tracker
Have these figures been delayed, cancelled or will some of them see light of day as the last of the Rise of Cobra toys before Pursuit begins?

What are the chances of a Canadian member of GI Joe made into an action figure for sale?

Since the US has many exclusives that are not available in Canada, how about a Canadian exclusive just for us to buy?

Why was the mail-away Cobra Commander turned into a chase figure?

With the introduction of a new Dreadnok that was previewed at Toy Fair, does this mean we can expect more Dreadnoks in the future?
