Sigma 6 coming to YTV
« on: August 23, 2006, 09:07:34 PM »

Hey gang, I saw an ad on YTV that might interest some of us.
For 5 days (August 28 - September 1) YTV is holding some kind of 'Sneak Preview' of new shows, among them GI Joe Sigma 6.  So check your local listings and tune in if you want.  Hopefully this is an indication of the Sigma 6 line's widespread released in Canada, if it hasn't been done already (coughSouthShoreOfMontrealcough).

I heard it's going to be the first season repeated while Fox plays the second season. Hopefully they're both on good time slots so I can catch me some GI Goodness.

I would have sworn I saw S6 on tv months ago. I can't remember which channel it was though. I didn't watch it for more than a minute.

Fox played the first season. It isnt' that the show's been inaccessable to Canadians, it's the fact that YTV is picking it up is a good sign for the future of the line.

The first season had a lot of problems. Duke was recast twice. When the first story arc comes out on DVD as Sigma Six: The Movie, many characters will have new voices.

I'd say the first season was worth watching for Cobra alone. The Dreadnoks look maniacal, all of Cobra was terrified of Cobra Commander, they were cool to watch. I couldn't wait for the Joe stuff to end to get back to more Cobra. The second season is already looking better. Lt. Stone's pretty cool and Firefly is a joy to watch. Animation style's the same, so if that's your problem with the show it will continue to be. But the dialogue, stories, and acting have improved.

Let's just hope season two has more than 8 episodes...
I mean i lost interest when fox kept on repeating over and over the first episodes and add a new one and then repeat it all over again... I mean that story about Scott Abernathy and his cyber dog...gee I couldn't take it anymore.

I loved that arashikage episodes. Every ninja dual in that serie was cool, actualy. Sure it was typical anime stuff, but it was cool :)

Anyway, according to the TV guide, Sigma 6 will air on YTV on Thursday the 31st at 6 pm as part of the Sneak Peek Week.  The episode is 'Strike.'

So if you guys don't get Fox and/or haven't seen the show yet ( :shifty: ), be sure to tune in.

I didn't mind the first ep or two, but it got pretty lame quick.

Anyway, I hope it does find an audience with the TV watchers it is intended for.

I'm sure the Canadian kids will eat it up as they do with Yu-Gi-Yo and Pokeman. Then sales will raise for GIJoe merch in Canada, finally, meaning more GIJoe stock on toy shelves.

Zach (my nephew) has seen it and LOVES it.

However, he wishes the toys were 'normal' (his words).
When I asked him about it, he said "They're too big. They should be the same size as the ones you gave me for X-mas".

I agree. ;-)
