Title: Oktoberfest time
Post by: morgardee on October 14, 2004, 04:46:58 PM
I guess I should have posted this almost a week ago but if anyone is swinging into K-Town for Oktoberfest, let me know.

I've grown up with this event so it doesn't phase me anymore. How does the rest of Canada see Oktoberfest anyhow? Living in Kitchener / Waterloo since I was 2 I might be desensitized to it by now.

Yeah. It started last Friday and runs 10 days. Sunday is the last day for it but getting tickets for one of the halls by now would be next to impossible. A lot of places get sold out way before Okoberfest even starts. It's always during the week of Thanksgiving in Canada plus the weekends before and after. So if anyone swings into K-Town give me a shout. Not sure if I'll be home as my brother-in-law has a baby due as of yesterday, so the call should be coming in any time now to get my butt over to Cambridge hospital and see the newest member of my family.

It's funny, Miss Oktoberfest use to have women from all over. Heck, one year she was from Texas (and I bet she froze on that float for the parade) but now they have limited Miss Oktoberfest to locals from K-Town only.
