Post by: morgardee on December 07, 2004, 01:47:53 PM
You guys should check this out:

http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/americas/ ... index.html (http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/americas/12/07/canada.tshirts.ap/index.html)

It's an article from CNN talking about an American T shirt compnay selling "Canadian" T shirts for travelling Americans. Made me laugh at first...

Quote from article: "I said, 'What are you going to do if someone asks you about the prime minister of Canada?' And he said, 'I'll study up,"' Dawson said.

He has to 'study up' to find out that Martin is PM? It's not like we have to spend hours of research to find that Bush is President. Then again, Bush is worldly-known more than Martin just by comparing their amount of media press. Clever idea, though.

Did you ever see Mike Meyers doing Jean Cretien on SNL? It was only once that I know of, and he was dead-on. But no matter how funny I found it, the audience was dead for the whole skit.

Too bad.

You Quebecers do really live in a distict society  :D  What do you mean you never heard the word hoser before? It's a Canadian cult word from these two beer drinking jabronies.

Redmao, if you're not familiar with SCTV, you'll probably heard of their characters redone as mooses in Disney's Brother Bear.

Does anyone know what a 'hoser' means, though?

Rest assured, some of us have heard the word hoser and have seen Bob and Doug McKenzie skits, or at least Strange Brew.

Hoser: Canadian Slang: A clumsy, boorish person, especially an uncouth, beer-drinking man. See also Hose-Head.

Ah Strange Brew. Part of that was filmed in K Town during Octoberfest. When the dog goes "flying". Makes me proud!

I need to rent that movie again.
