Almost as soon as I got back home from New Orleans, I asked Tina to marry me. She had to make sure I was serious, because I have mentioned in the past that I didn?t see marriage as my thing. When I said that I was, she said that she would.
No immediate wedding plans are set. Two years from now would be ideal. Our lease will be up, I will have either completed my one year teaching degree in Ottawa or started the first year of a three (probably two and a few night courses thanks to shared credit) year teaching degree in Quebec. Since I?m allowed to teach as I study in Quebec, either way I will be working my career right after getting married.
If you?ve attended the a Joe Canuck Meet in the last two years, or the Montreal Meet last year, you?ve met Tina. If you haven?t, this girl was willing to drive to New York and back for a weekend of Joe shopping when we weren?t really even dating, drives to the Hamilton con the last two years and plans on doing it again, and was the stage manager of my latest production of In Jim?s Image, my original play. We met playing Dungeons and Dragons. And right now, we sleep in the spare bedroom and use the master bedroom for my Joes and our games. It?s one thing to find a girl who tolerates your hobby, but to find one that actively participates in it, that?s not a girl to let go. So I didn?t.
And rest assured, invitations will be sent out.
