Canadian cities - any info we should know?
« on: March 02, 2004, 11:39:31 AM »

Ok, is there anything unique that you can think of in your cities that may be of use for other guys that may travel to them one day.

I am in Montreal on business for a few days.  I found out yesterday you can't make a right hand turn on a red light.    This gets a big WTF from me.

Lol, that's because we're all maniacs here. Everyone crosses on red lights and J walking is the norm especially downtown, so try not to hit anyone.  :D   It's really rediculous, because people dont't even bother to look at the light or both ways before crossing, they just cross. The cops don't care and don't bother to hand out tickets since everyone does it.

Also, don't say you're a leafs fan, you will be severly beaten.

Well here in Saint Jhn, NB you definitely want to avoid driving uptown.  Any time.  One-way streets that are not marked as such abound, and speed limit signs are optional on most highways, it would seem.

Oh yeah, there are several intersections that you cannot make a right turn on  red, but if you don't know what ones they are...

At least we have an iuncredible cncentratin of Tim's locations here.  You'll never be without  :timbits:

It.............SUCKS.

JvsC wave 1 appeared here very quickly after it first appeared in the states, vehicles included.

Nothing ELSE arrived here untilI saw some of the Mission Disks this past December.  Oh wait, that was while I was in Quebec......

Hrm.  It appears that over the last two years, wave 1 and this value pack are all I've seen locally.

(The only Mod with one province for each alternate personality!  I also apologize for my typing last night.  My friend's computer had this funky keyboard that was split in the middle, totally messed me up.  I'm not your typical Eastern hick, honest.)

Wear a gas mask while you're in Hamilton...but you already know that Pete.

I have a buddy who goes to school 8 months of the year in Nova Scotia, and when he gets back in the summer, he seriously coughs for a week.

If your in Toronto, stay away from the east end.  Stupid penis packers in the area killing each other. I am getting tired of hearing about on the news.

People getting shot and killed in Scarborough (which is the east end of Toronto).  I am getting fed up with it as I have family out in that area.

Yeah, my home is in Scarborough (ooooh).  It is pretty bad here.  I live south of Kingston road, and everything south of Kingston is pretty much alright.

It's sad because my dad was telling me how Scarborough used to be the most boring place in the GTA.  Nothing ever happened here, maybe just teenagers acting up, but that's it.

Now there's crime everywhere, and even in a better community less than a kilometer from my house there are some seedy motels, where I'm certain illegal activites occur.

Strangely enough, I've lived in Scarlem (Scarborough + Harlem) my entire life, and was never myself mugged or beat up or anything.  Just stay away from large groups of teens with the "thug 4 life" look. (How the hell did I survive 4 years of High school?   )
