LMAO.

It's fixed. Mike knows that now that Pete has 1, he's going to have to get the rest (completist disease)   Congrats Pete!

The park idea is a bad one in my books.

It may keep the cost down, but then we'll have guys like Raptor and Collectorman digging through the grass looking for parts or weapons!
:-)

Doom on you Mike...I'm not that bad...

I'm cool with having it just about anywhere, even though I think it'd be fun to make jokes of Ed's backyard.

Where ever it is, you better bring pepperettes Mike...

I gotta ask, of all the places to move to, why Nova Scotia?

Well, my old boss at the Stag Shop wants to open a branch store in Halifax. In that case, she would be deemed the Area Manager and she'd need to hire a store manager.

Also, I did 2 1/2 in college for radio broadcasting. I was screwed out of my diploma because of some real bad planning on the college's part and an unfortunate death of a faculty member. Anyways, it's impossible to get into radio in Ontario (I tried, believe me). I might be able to work something out down east.

I know that I've cut back in what I've been buying. Mike can confirm this by how little I've been in his store lately...and I working maybe 10 minutes away.

Although my problem is mostly the money aspect (selling dildos doesn't pay all that well), there's also a limit to what you can buy. For instance, recently I've been planning a move to Nova Scotia. If I go, I'll be taking only what I can fit in my 2000 Toyota Corolla. A MIB Tomahawk isn't the smartest thing to pack into a car with limited space.

If you're starting to settle into a family life, or don't have someone close to you that you can share the hobby with (TMWOAN and She-Can always come to mind), than the collecting can hit a brick wall.

General Joe Talk / Any weird shipping stories?

And on a side note, I just don't get Canada Post.  It's cheaper to ship to Europe, USA or South America than to B.C. or Alberta (for the same package).

I found this out rather quick a few weeks ago. I started posting some comics on Ebay to thin out my collection. After shipping a few things to Calgary, I raised my shipping for US buyers. Then I mailed a package of the same weight to Florida and it was cheaper (     )?

I'm starting to believe that the Yanks have a postal system so good, it absorbs the cost of bringing in packages from other countries.

The only really weird story I have is when Scrap-Iron for Joecustoms sent me a package with a MOC MOTU Buzz-Off and Merman repaint inside. It took 10 weeks to arrive, and when it did, the box was ripped open and burnt. I asked the post office guy (who I chew out quite a bit) what the fuck had happened and he gave me some story about a forklift bursting into flames at a distribution center and my package must have felt the heat.

The figures were still MOC though.

General Joe Talk / how many of your childhood joes survived...

One. An '86 Sci-Fi.

When I first starting collecting, I took a lot of the Joes I had when I was a kid and matched them up with their weapons. Then I bought and bought and bought. This is what I like to call the "First Collection." I had a great collection, but the ex-fiancee thought it was "unhealthy" or whatever. So I sold them.

After we kicked each other to the curb, I realized how much of a drain on assets she was when I had all this extra cash in the bank. So I started again with the 2000-2001 ARAH stuff. Now I'm pretty picky about what I want/buy.

Anyways, when I sold the first collection, I tossed aside an ugly bitch of what used to be a Sci-Fi. He was the first Joe I remember having, so he was the only one I kept.

Off Topic / Why too many different names on too many boards suck!!!

I've had Collectorman as far as I can remember (damn Jack Daniels). I wouldn't be able to remember 40 different handles. Hell, I signed up for a Trailer Park Boys website a month ago and I can't remember my friggin password!

Canadian law sucks at times.......

Animals have more rights than we do.  The justice sytem in Canada is a joke because we have unelected judges making decisions above the feds.   But these jokers (like this tool Mike mentioned) will be back to do something else as he got a slap in the wrist in my view.  Just pathetic.

I have horror stories about the Canadian justice system. I had a co-worker years ago who went to jail for 6 months for stopping a burglar. He was living outside Calgary at the time and was working the night shift at whatever job he had. Anyways, he took a night of work to stay home with his pregnant wife (who was due that weekend). His wife went to bed and he was in the basement doing some woodworking when he heard glass crunching. He opened the door to his garage, and standing not five feet away is some 6' nut with a Bowie knife.

My buddy, freaking, grabbed a single barreled shotgun and fired at the burglar's feet. The burglar took off, cutting himself on a broken window, which is how the cops nabbed him when he checked into the hospital.

The cops also arrested my buddy. He was found guilty of some kind of assault charge and did 6 months. The burglar, who TOLD the police he "wanted to rape a pregnant woman," was charged and then released because he claimed 'emotional damage'.

Anyways, back on topic. I knew this guy was up to something after he opened a brand new store and then walked into my 'Shop' one night not too long after and dropped $300.

 At least if he walks into my store now, I can throw him out for not having any money.

Wear a gas mask while you're in Hamilton...but you already know that Pete.

I have a buddy who goes to school 8 months of the year in Nova Scotia, and when he gets back in the summer, he seriously coughs for a week.

I have a little bit of everything. I was collecting MotU...but that's friggin impossible anymore with my budget. I pick up the odd Star Wars if I can find one...my last one was Durge.

Heroclix is another passion. I love the damned things but none of my friends play and I can't stand some overweight 13 year old kid yelling/spitting in my face about rules BS at the local comic shops. I collect them mostly in the hopes of a display.

My Marvel Legends figures are held in the same esteem as Joes to me. They're awesome...amazing...every thing I've ever wanted from Marvel.

My first great love is comic books. 18 small boxes and counting. I HATE the thoughts of moving...

I recently started to collect Maxim/Stuff/Maxim Blender/FHM/Playboy magazines. I love women, sooo...  :D
