Looking good.  Too bad Hasbro will find another way to screw up my pre-order.

Crimson Guard Tomax pack - due out March 10, 2005

Crismon Guard Xamot pack - due out March 10, 2005

I think one greenshirt pack will be fine for me.

I have an extra set that doesn't fit in with my display.  All figures are loose with all weapons and filecards. I won't break up the set. I just want the retail cost for them. PM me if interested.

General Joe Talk / 2005 Convention Figures

Actually, the hype was real this time.  From the Mastercollector newsletter.

Quote
This year’s 3 3/4” set is entitled General Mayhem: M.A.R.S. Invades!

The story goes like this: Destro (an international arms dealer) is always expanding his M.A.R.S. (Military Armaments Research Systems) corporation to create new weapon’s factories all around the world. He has set his sights on several secret industrial complexes in the former Soviet Union and is using his inside man (General Mayhem, a former Spetsnaz officer and brilliant strategist), to execute his plan. With his new Iron Grenadiers and elite brigade of Iron Anvil Paratroopers led by Metal Head, Destro’s forces have invaded this former Soviet Bloc toy factory and plan to ship weapon’s systems under the toy brand of Destr-uct-o Blocs. Under this cover, they believe that they will be able to distribute their products globally, unnoticed by the western world. It is up to the G.I. Joe team to stop this dastardly plan. Who will win this urban struggle? What Joes will respond? Only time will tell…

This set comes with Destro in his new high powered battle armor; a new Iron Grenadier leader, General Mayhem; Destro’s trusty Lieutenant Metal Head; along with six new and improved Iron Grenadiers and six of Destro’s latest airborne assault paratroopers, the Iron Anvils!*

So, to recap this outstanding offer, you get fifteen different figures with weapons and accessories. This set comes in the same style illustrated box as the past two years’ sets and will make a terrific display with your existing collection.

Oh and spot the two Joecanuck members at the front of the line of the newsletter.

Take this with a grain of salt until pictures surface.  But I am disappointed Hasbro couldn't find a way to re-make Torch for the Dreadnok 3 pack.  Sgt. Mutt....sigh. WTF.  Just call him Mutt for my sake. At least a new version of him is coming out.  A Joe winter 6 pack.  This is going to be interesting.

General Joe Talk / Ninja Battle Set
« on: January 06, 2005, 07:27:20 PM »
Mine arrived in the mail today from GIJOEHQ.  In short, you have to get this set.  Even though Shadow Strike is the worst figure in my view (mostly because of the wide body construction), the others are real good figure repaints.

I kept the figures in the package as it makes for a cool dio set up. I only took out the DVD to watch. I won't spoil the DVD but you have to watch all of it.  It's worth it in the end, regardless if a certain aspect of the new storyline doesn't mesh with a death from the old comic books.  Good thing I don't care.

Off Topic / McFarlane NHL Legends - Gretzky
« on: November 17, 2004, 07:48:13 PM »
I normally collect the 6" Maple Leaf figures and Mario Lemieux.  But today I found the Edmonton Oilers Wayne Gretzky version at Walmart.  My beef is had to look at 30 different Gretzky's to find one without significant paint wear. Man, the quality control is lacking here.  Are McFarlane products this shoddy? Other wise, this is a nice figure to get if your a hockey fan.

I am going to have heck of a time finding Frank Mahovlich (as he is a Leaf figure) in my area.

Off Topic / So....anybody missing the NHL?
« on: October 23, 2004, 11:49:13 AM »
It might be early but I am not missing the NHL one bit.  Gone another year for false hope of the Maple Leafs winning the cup. Oh well, I am getting my sports fix with the MLB playoffs and CFL/NFL.

General Joe Talk / Wave 6 pics
« on: October 19, 2004, 08:40:52 PM »
There on ebay

Cobra Slash
Coil Crusher
Torch
Electric Eel
Frostbite
Cobra Slice
Razorclaw
Shipwreck
Snow Wolf
Tunnel Rat
Wild Bill
Humvee
Night Adder

Torch and Frostbite get the  from me.  The rest of the wave is Seinfeld fodder (much to do about nothing).  Why more repaints, including the vehicles?  This is a trend I hate.  And making one Coil Crusher was bad enough.  A repaint of one of the worst articulated figures made to date.   Not to mention one ugly piece of plastic.

Tunnel Rat looks like a hybrid between Tiger Force and Eco Warriors.

Waves 4 and 5 have just come out and now 6 around the corner.  This is too much product for a short period of time, regardless if the X mas season is around the corner.  Parents will not buy 2 packs at those prices.

At least my comic wave 4 and 5 packs arrived today.  Now those are sweet.

Smalljoes.com has the packs on the site for sale, incase any Canadians are looking for them.  It's safe to say they will not make it into Canada.

These packs so far have been a home run. But I am getting restless in waiting for the Oktober Guard figures.
