Looks real and I have a bunch of MOSC China figres. Still, he also sells a bunch of those Transformer knock offs and the bubble on the sword looks a little thing to me. Hard to say.
-
I have one.. pretty sure it's a fake.. there's a ton of these on eBay right now! I know that there's a real version that was made a couple of years ago but I don't know the differences between them :-
-
I think that the Cobra emblem on the figure is not the same on the bootleg version.. but I'm not a variation specialist so..

Funny that you say this now....you and I had a conversation about this Storm Shadow figure a while back. Since I bought two of them I can re-confirm to you that it is without a second doubt 100% fake.
Since I have a good dozen of chinese Gi joe figures moc, I have been able to tell them apart. The guy who did them is a pro. One thing that should give away to an unfamiliar collector that it is fake is if you look carefully at the Cobra emblem: it is not a real Cobra logo. It looks like it but it's not. I'll try to take a close-up pic of it if I can. the other suspicious sign is the card itself: the colors are too dark, too saturated, as if it would've been scanned and printed that way. That's not the usual Hasbro China's quality trademark.
As for the accessories, they look real enough to the point that if you swap them with authentic ones they would have to be taken to a lab to be able to tell them apart.

If you and I combine our forces, we can perhaps buy an original carded version just to dissect it and expose the truth behind this bootleg
Of course, whichever of us is still alive will enherit the figure  Deal?
-
Thx LJ, the card is definitely not the same, it's way glossier and darker than other legit Chinese cards.. and I'm 100% sure that the quality of the figure is not the same either.. but the logo looks cool though ;D

Yessss, the Glossss, now how I could forget mentioning a thing like that. I am definetely outranked tonight. To be outmatched by the fresh water Maquereau is always an honor of course! ;D

There is one sure fire way to tell it's a bootleg. Check the Hasbro emblem at the bottom of the package. The dumbass that made the packaging screwed it up by spelling it as "Hrsbro".
And I have been collecting international figures for over a decade. This figure is not common and a authentic one is hard to find. So if the seller has sold 21 of them, and has more to sell, then all signs point to a fake.
This is a fake.

Hey! Those characters are written way too small in the fine print of our contract, no wonder I missed them! Ah, first outmatched and now screwed by the Fresh water Macquereau, now that's what I call a man eater :shifty:

And the rivets on the shoulders aren't painted. I think I remember someone say that they're painted white on the original.

i dont belive that they are painted on the original, looking at the yojoe archive photos the original doesnt look painted.
-
I think the flesh tones might be a bit too dark as well.
Either way, it looks fake. Someone should tell Ebay.

Wow, I can't believe that... :o I can see people buying this just to get SS accessories... I saw people asking $20 for the long sword alone.
In the next years, it will be harder and harder to collect vintage figs without getting fake accessories, fake figs, etc. that is too bad
-
Also - that bow is not from the original mold of the bow. The original mold is a THIN bow, while the "string" on this one is "fat".
Original is much thinner and breaks VERY easily.
-
For a fake it looks real good!
-
For the price there not all that bad. Definitly fakes I have three, well had three gave two away as gifts. They display very nicely and compared to the price of buying a moc canadian or american one it's well worth it.

If anyone's interested, there's more confirmation of these being a fake on Yojoe;
