fan-fic

so, yeah, I wrote this series of Action Force fan-fics

(http://www.bloodforthebaron.com/project ... index.html here if you wanna read it)

and I'm now doing an Action Man story. I'd like some suggestions of names to use for part of the second story in which the AM team are on exercise in Canada with JTF2 operators. Is there any particularly significant names in the history of Joe Canada I should use?

my AM team is:
Alex Mann (AM's real name in recent years)
Natalie Poole (female character from the 90s AM)
John Steel (a German 'Action Team' character from the 70s)
Tom Stone (the only black AM from the 70s)
Joe Nelson (homage to GI Joe, but he's British)
Mack (don't ask his first name, he hates it)

they're the main shooters. two more are arriving in the second story, Mark King (Mark from a French 'Group Action Joe' figure) and a Ghurka called Kul Thapa.

the other team members are
Jim Peterson and Fiona Ryan (pilots)
Trevor Jones, Ed Nash and Paul Grey (helicopter pilot/co-pilot/loadmaster)
Jack Cooper (communications and computers expert, left with a prosthetic leg after a mission in Somalia)

ummm how about B  :shifty:
what do you mean by significant names in joe canada? Like real names of actual soldiers or fictional names that people here have made for their own fan-fics? I'm not really understanding what you want.

An actual name I would use would be Sir William Stephenson "Intrepid". His name is familiar to many and he comes from the province that I live in.

names of Joe related characters - like if they named any of the 12in figures or names of real people who played an importnat role in Joe Canada's line.

Great idea and cast.
Nice of you to use the characters from different international lines.

Will Mark be an astronaut like in the GAJ line or will he be a pilot?

In the 60's and 70's, Gi Joe in Canada was about the same as in the States. We didn't get named characters like they did in Europe.

Mark's just a grunt. He's from the Special Forces Support Group, which is the British equivalent of the US Army's Rangers - they go through SF selection, but they're not in the SAS or SBS. Most are paratroopers. Mark's basically the squad machine-gunner.

in respect of your answer, anyone got any suggestions for names I could use?

(do Canadians even have a nickname for their troops like GI Joe or the British 'Tommy Atkins' name?)
