Title: DVD Battle Packs @ Zellers
Post by: Lt Storm on December 07, 2008, 07:19:10 PM
Much to my surprise, and dismay (since i bought these off ebay last week figuring i'd never see them in stores) I found a shelf full of 2 of the DVD battle packs, the one with the Weather Dominator and the one with the base for the MASS Device.

That's good news. What Zellers did you see them in?

LOL oh well that would help if I mentioned that wouldn't it.

I'm missed that part. I thought we were talking the second wave. My bad.

Same here. I was shocked to see them (and the Wave 1 vehicles, INCLUDING the VAMP) at my local Zellers on the weekend.

Walked into my Zellers Goderich today and found the Greatest Battles DVD set...with yet another Snake-Eyes, Duke, Storm Shadow and Cobra Commander.  Duke and Cobra Commander are the only good ones here, Cobra Commander has lots of paint aps to him, much more then when they used the CG mold before, with the HISS driver legs.

Does anyone know if Zellers will be eventually getting the remaining three DVD Battle Packs (Pyramid, Serpentor and Best of 80s)?

I've checked 3 Zellers in the Edmonton area and all I see is stacks of the Revenge of Cobra set.

I did find Battle Packs 3 and 4 in a local comic store, but with *ridiculous* markup of course.   ::)

It's not looking good.

Hell, I'm just looking for set #5 and I'm not having any luck.

I don't think we should expect to see 3,4 and 5 in Canada anywhere but the rare comic shop. With no Wal-marts in my area even carrying the first two and every Zellers in town and TRU sitting on a seemingly bottomless supply of HISSs, Air Chariots/Armadillos and DVD 1 & 2, it appears they are scared off Joe stuff in Canada. Nowhere in town (London ON) has even restocked comic packs since before Christmas. It's shocking. I really have just ended up shopping from the states. It costs a little more, but not much more than retail in Canada and it saves me wandering through every Zellers and Wal-mart in the city each week hoping against hope something interesting may get stocked. Actually seeing the five packs and VvV at retail took me by surprise. But that also says to me that they have skipped over any interest in more of the good DVD sets.

In the states only the fifth set is rare. Logic (which isn't always Hasbro's strong point I admit) dictates that H will make an equal amount of each set, so as to give everyone who buys a set a chance at completing his MASS with retail shopping. So maybe after the movie they will pack out some revision cases and we can all finally add Alpine 25th to our shelves.

I'm tempted to just find Quick Kick and Alpine on ebay or something. I don't want all those other figures that come with. But I would really like those two.
