PTE has arrived at Hart
« on: September 30, 2009, 07:17:30 PM »

It's that time of year again. The days are getting shorter, the leaves are turning red, the kids are back in school and PTE has arrived at Hart for the Christmas shopping season.  ;D

I found these at Hart on the South Shore. They weren't on the shelves yet. They were stacked in a pile on the floor near the toy section. A couple of employees were busy resetting the toy section, they left the PTE stuff out until the proper shelves were installed. Variety was lacking compared to previous years. Besides these, I only saw the new VAMP-like jeep. I hope that they are expecting more shipments. I'd love to get a Main Battle Tank or two and I'm still waiting for the Patrol Boat.

What were the prices on the transport and the helicopter. I wonder if this means that Giant tiger will get them.

If so, i can see having one or two of that transport, even if I have no place what so ever for it.

The troop transport was 21.99$ and the chopper was 29.99$.

I was really looking forward to the transport. After opening it up, I'm a little disappointed. There are 6 opening hatches on the top of the vehicle: 2 in the front (where the driver and co-pilot are) and 4 in the back (behind the cannon). The hatches are just big enough to stand a figure. However, the vehicle doesn't have an interior. The back door doesn't open and there is no room to sit the drivers or the troops. I'll probably take it apart to see if it can be converted to actually carry figures. On the positive side, the cannon is cool and the rubber tires were a nice surprise.

I wasn't planning on buying the chopper, but it looked cool in the store. After opening it up, I love it!  ;D Both front and back doors can open. There is room to sit 4 figures. The weapons on the wings are interchangeable. It's also very ''swooshable''. I'm debating whether to pick up another to paint in Cobra blue...

Thanks for letting me know. The troop transport is now off my list till someone figures out how to make it hold figures. I have something like 500 PTE troopers, and I was hoping for a "action figure storage truck" from them to keep them in.

So disappointing. :-(

Hart is a chain of retail stores in eastern Canada. They have several locations:

They usually carry quite a bit of PTE during the holiday shopping season.

Uhh, I'm probably gonna sound like a big dummy here but what the heck is PTE?  I do kinda like those vehicles though, and I might have to ask some of my Canadian Joe brothers to pick some up for me.

Hey Olyeller, you won't believe me but I don't even know what PTE stands for either.

In the same line of discussion:

Has anyone seen this BlackHawk from TRUE HEROES ( TRU exclusive ):

http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=3433758&cp=3833784.3833784&parentPage=family

Has anyone bought this and want to share reviews? I'm very tempting to get one of these if it's correctly scaled to Joes.

PTE stands for Power Team Elite.

Is this the Black Hawk you're talking about?  If so, I'd recommend NOT getting it, as 25th Joes can only fit comfortably in the cockpit.  Heck, even ARAH figures can't sit in the rear compartment properly, as you can see here.

If you want to make it Joe-compatible, you will have to do some customizing.  I've seen it modded on other Joe sites: the whole troop section has been cut out, floor removed, and new benches added.
