The mess-cleaning HISS Holder
« on: February 17, 2011, 10:50:39 PM »

I don't know about you guys, but my desk is usually a mess.  Worst of all, I tend to leave a bunch of crap lying around on the area in front of my printer's paper tray, so refilling it becomes annoying when I have to push pens, papers, movie tickets, cards, jewellers screwdrivers, elastic, the miniature diecast MOBAT from '82, etc. out of the way.  The Pit Commandos and Beachhead on the side of the printer don't get in the way, but the mess in front of it does!

Today, I decided it was time to change that.  So, I started thinking: "What figure do I have has a backpack I can put pens in?"  I considered using my BioShock Big Sister, but I found something better.

Gentlemen, for your consideration, the HISS Holder!

Pens, pencils, scissors, broken hobby knives in the turret:

Rubber bands, paper clips, other small items like tubes of thermal grease go in the cockpit.  Remove the driver for more space:

Keeps things organized, is easy to move to access the printer, and best of all, it fits with the figures I already keep on my desk:

The Septic Tank might cause messes, but this one prevents them.  And if you use a HISS Mark II, you can use the rear troop compartment as a drawer for more storage.

My messy desk problem is solved.  Thanks, HISS Holder!

Thanks!  And hey, you're right, maybe I should submit this idea to the Newsletter.  It might give some HISS Tanks some love! ;D

Thanks a lot, guys!  I'm going to make an article out of this and submit it for the March newsletter, with more (and better) photos.  I've found another special function that ties in with the desk-organizer theme, too.  I didn't notice it until just now... it was right under my nose!  Or rather, the nose of the tank.  More on this later! ;D

I was thinking of using my Stormtrooper mug, but I have other stuff in like like a Batman figure, some Star Wars Force Lighting effect pieces, and a Micro Machines Death Star, so I decided against it.

;D Sweet, thanks!  I've been experimenting with the HISS mark II, but the "drawer" is hard to open, and the angle of the cockpit results in everything spilling out when you open it.  Ah well!
