Well what I mean is the enthusiasm of a small collector base leaving heaps of unwanted single figs and vehicles on the shelves. Look in the Zellers thread, people are reporting getting things this week that have been there for over two years!

Nothing at the Fort Gratiot/Port Huron Wal-mart last weekend, and for POC all TRU seemed to have left were some w1 stragglers and tons of the exclusives. Target had a healthy supply of w2 ( I got two Jungle Vipers).

Yeah I agree, and I do the same. It's just a shame if our enthusiasm is what kills the line.

Quote from: "morgardee"

How can we get the kids buying them when we are buying all the army builders? Sometimes I think we are all a bit short sighted. We devour the army builders and leave pegs full of Duke and Storm Shadow and expected someone else to buy them. That's not exactly helping keep the Joe line alive.

Well, Hasbro doesn't help things by packing the army builders so short. They clearly think the mainstay characters are going to do better business, as far as I can tell. Seems to me the army builders are a bone they toss to the collector base. I doubt little kids worry about them the way most of us do. As a kid I always hunted for specific characters. But I guess it was different then, I never saw ANY Storm Shadow on the shelf until I was about 15 years old, and even then it was Ninja Force. All my Stormys, and Snake Eyes came to me second hand as a kid. It's weird really, I remember the 1986 Viper being a peg warmer in its day. I suppose it's complicated marketing a toy line whose fan base is mostly adults by now.

Nice. That's all I need to rest easy on these. If they're in Canada I'll find them eventually :D

I am getting anxious about the W2 vehicles, I hope we don't get skipped on them. Considering the 25th and ROC items that never showed up, I am skeptical.

Argyle in London has a ton of w1 and w2, every fig left from both assts other than the two army builders. I left Recondo et al but picked up the vipers to trade or build. Also got the awesome Jabba and throne WM exclusive. Great toy day at WM! They also had some Ravens and Bravo ROC stuff on clearance.

Yeah I just got mine by going into Wal-marts whenever I had a reason to be there. I am at the point I'd probably just leave any W1 stuff I find now, I have two open AV's and two sealed, and I feel like that's being greedy since I can't do anything cool with them anyways. If anyone wants me to scout for more here in London just let me know, we have three Wal-marts and I believe five Zellers.

No mark down at Real Canadian Superstore here in London yet, I mean beyond the 7 dollar markdown that's been in effect for a few months. There's nothing much I'd even get at 3 bucks though, maybe a coupla wave 1 Neo Vipers but even for three that's pushing it.

As for wives...well I try to disclose nearly everything and deal with small disapproval than get caught lying or hiding purchases which is a bigger fight altogether. Though I didn't show her the receipts from Winners when I bought hundreds of dollars worth of W3 vehicles. :)

damn, I was in TO on Monday but didn't figure they'd be open so I never tried (not sure if they were)

If anyone can go down and pick me up a set I'd be happy to compensate generously! Please if you can, PM me. I'm in London so I don't think I'll be able to get over there before they'd be long gone.

Wasn't me. I gave up on getting any more W1, I just don't have the patience to drive to all those Wal-marts every day. I convinced myself two Alley Vipers is enough :(
