Airborne's Customs - Compiled archive updated 8/18/10
« on: June 01, 2010, 07:26:41 PM »

I've had Leatherneck sitting on my table for months now and finally knocked him out. At first I was going to go straight up original update but I decided to go more modern Marine with the MARPAT-looking uniform. It's not perfect but it's damn close and turned out really nice(there are a few touch-ups that need to be done but he's pretty much finished).

I also took pics in phases while painting the MARPAT-look to show my process.

More pics can be seen here:

Recipe:
Hat - VvV Gung Ho modified
Head and vest - 25th Mutt
Torso and upper arms - 25th Shockwave
Lower arms - Best of 80s Duke
Upper Legs - 25th Firefly
Lower legs and feet - 25th Snow Job

I am considering selling him if I get a good offer.

Once I did my Leatherneck custom in MARPAT I decided that I had to make an updated Sgt. Slaughter and Gung Ho in MARPAT as well. So, here's Gung Ho!

Group shot!

The Marine Corps logo is completely hand drawn. It turned out pretty nice but would be nicer if I had a waterslide for it.

Parts list:

Head: Star Wars head modded
Torso, Upper Arms: 25th Dr. Mindbender
Lower Arms: RoC Sgt. Stone
Legs: 25th Gung Ho
Hat: custom sculpted
Vest and Grenade Launcher: RoC Heavy Duty
Backpack: RoC Duke

It sure was! Amazing what a dremel, sand paper, some Green Stuff, and a little paint can do, ain't it!?  ;D
