Title: What vendors and product are going to be there?
Post by: Raptor on February 04, 2009, 09:26:02 AM
Who is confirmed that they are going to have tables at the convention? What are they bringing?

I'm trying to see what I should buy now, and what I should hold off on buying till the con.

I am really looking for Resolute figure single packs and comic packs, abut I also have a hankering to stock up on incinerators if I can find them cheap...

Do you mean the Movie Transformer Incinerator?  If so, Cambridge Wal~Mart has about 6 of them for 15$ each.

I can confirm that V&L Gifts will be set up once again, as well as some "non-store" people. Two of which are from the U.S. - one from NY State, and one fro Ohio - and it's not Lance! :-)

Others have shown interest and have "said" they want a table - but until I get the contracts back in the mail - nothing is confirmed. ;-)

Well then. It seems to me to be a little late in the game to not have registered. Hal's going to be there right? Pete? GSmiley?

How about the others? Who else on here is going to be vending?

Huh?

There's still 2 1/2 months to get a table - it's just a matter of who gets their paperwork in first and when before then I run out of spots. ;-)

You'd be surprised how many people usually try to book at the last minute - that's why people had to be turned away last year, they didn't book early enough. :-)

I remember running into a few guys at a Kitchener Toy show last year that were sad they missed out on the meet last year.

I think everyone did fairly well last year.

Well, if you hit another show and see them - tell them to sign up before tables are gone!

It's a G.I. Joe Convention, and you've done it the last two years - so use your past knowledge on what may or may not sell. ;-)

People collect more than just Joes. ;-)

I'm currently Debating on weather or not to Bring a Terror Drome.

I'll have a nice mix of cheap complete figures, loose figures, weapons, vehicle parts, figure parts, and 25th figures...loose and MOC.

Also Considering grabbing a few Target Planes...Did Canada get these?  Would there be interest in them?

Canada did not get any of the Target exclusives - so I imagine there would be some interest indeed.

I'd wager the interest would be in the blue Rattler and grey Conquest. I don't think the Tiger Force or Python Patrol repaints are in demand.

I'll be trying to get rid of a 98% complete USS FLAGG for $450 CDN and a Terror Drome for $300 CDN.
And copies of my own graphic novel.

And tons of stuff for the freebie table.

I gotta side with Morg here. There's a plethora of different types of collectors that will be attending. There's even this rare breed called "completists". ;)

If it wasn't available in Canada, then I suggest any U.S. dealers bring it up!

I would tend to agree that the bigger interest would be on the more generic planes and not their more obscure counterparts, but I'd still consider bringing at least one each of the others...

Hint: I am actually going to the Con with the hopes of finding a Tiger Rattler

Oh yeah, and the Golden Rule never fails to deliver, that is, If it's not available in Canada in the first place, expect the interest to rise.

I personally would be mega interested in the Target exclusives. I need the Tiger Rattler and the Python X-30 plus the blue Rattler which always sells out first online (most popular). I also need the green Target AWE Striker. I would maybe be willing to get extra of the other exclusives but only if they weren't too over-priced. (Fat chance at a con, eh?)  I already painstakingly got the rest from working the Google on the internet machine, but I paid a lot more than I would have if I didn't have to pay shipping and could have walked into a Target. If anyone has the Target MOBAT set it would probably sell because no one wants to pay to have it shipped from the US. (Rattlers are large too, so shipping for them is like 20-30 bucks.) We also need other lines too. Marvel Super Heroes Universe and Wolverine the Movie are made by Hasbro and have the same level of articulation as Joes. (I like having yellow and Blue Wolvie take on Cobra guards at the Hellfire Club sometimes, myself.) We have a lot of the Wolverine normal figs here at Walmart but we never get any of the chase figures here. We need the Toys R Us exclusive Wolverine and Sabertooth with motorcycle. We didn't get human version Deadpool, flaming Human Torch or Bullseye. We are really short on the new waves of Marvel Universe. (Hulk, Moon Knight and Green Goblin.) We also are dreadfully short on Transformers Universe Starscream, Cyclonus and any of the Masterpiece line including the Starscream from Walmart which we also didn't get. We didn't get the HALO Spartan store exclusives either and I bet they would move. Also the US card backs have individual artwork which ours doesn't so they might be popular too. In Canada, we didn't ever get any of the normal vehicle waves after the HISS tank and Serpentor. So uh, yeah... *Taps finger on desk in annoyance at HASBRO..* I would bring stuff like this. Do you guys think there will be any UK Action Force stuff there?

If anyone has the Ages of Action 3 3/4" action figures in stock, I would surely like to pick up a good handful of them. These are awesomely detailed and articulated.

Hey!

Marauder will be "Gun-Running" at the Canadian Joe Con!  ;D

Was able to make some last minute schedule changes (the "hope" of buying a Chrome HATE also helped with the decision  8) ), so will be able to satisfy all your weapon needs in PERSON at the show.

Whether you need gear or or just want to say "hello"...we look forward to seeing you all!

Also, if you stop by...you can pick up a FREE weapon of your choice!

MJ

I would like to see some Care Bears and My Little Ponies........what?

Seriously. As others have said, if it wasn't released in Canada, bring it.

So of course any Target exclusives, but also Canada never saw wave 13 (yet), barely any wave 12, not TR/SS or D/SW comic packs (yet) and the RESOLUTE 5 pack.  So those might be in greater demand.

Also, I know that some guys up here are trying to get them, but any star cases (or Hasbro GI JOE) for figures might do well.

Funny that. My 2 1/2 year old son is into Care Bears right now. We were looking for them at garage sales last weekend (and found 3 of the little smurf like figures).

So yeah, if any Care Bears make it to the free table, I call dibs!

Forgot to add on a personal note, I am looking for some of the latest SW Titanium ships (IG2000, BARC speeder, etc).

Also if anyone has wave 2 of the MU figures, or Bullseye/Human Torch(flame on), then bring them since we missed Bullseye and the Flame On Human Torch, and for some reason we have skipped wave 2 so far and went straight to wave 3.

I'll be setting up with Eternity Comics and Collectibles.

If you have ever bought from me more than once at these shows, the stuff I bring gets better and better.

I use to be a big army builder, but I'm really starting to thin out my vintage collection:

Some of the highlights include, dreadnok ground and air assualt, many vintage army builders, bags of vehicles parts, toxolab, dinohunter set and what ever else I can fit in my car  ;D
