Man do I feel strung along. It was confirmed that Valour vs Venom was coming out, they've taken orders for it, and orders are still open. But now WotC officially says the game is dead.
A lot of people are blaming distribution, but I think it's skeptical store owners that have made this game hard to find. The Quantum Ladies only brought the game in to sell to me, and it ended up being a sizeable money maker for them. Between the collector appeal, the almost 100% awesome card art, and the fantastic fun of the game, this game should have lasted at least the year. Is it really that big a risk to release Valour vs Venom?
I know licensing fees are expensive, and it doesn't make sense for Wizards to produce a game they are paying rights for when it doesn't sell as well as in-house ideas. But damn it, this is a good TCG. I'm not just buying it because I'm a fan of the product. I did that with Star Trek and Warhammer 40 000 TCGs, both of which have limited entertainment value. GI Joe is consistantly fun, fast, and interesting. The variety of decks that can be made around a theme or a game mechanical is immense, and it is GI Joe.
Just give me Valour vs Venom, guys. Is that too much to ask?
